Love is a give and take, whether shared by two men or three.
After the devastating loss of his parents, Rusty Bonham feels like he is floating through life without an anchor. The problem, he discovers, is the anchor he wants is already tied to another man, an equally hot professor.
Professors Adam Ryan and Manuel Corto Delgado believed they had the perfect life, but everything changed the day Rusty walked into Adam’s classroom and sat in the front row. Four years later, Adam and Manuel still want Rusty, but it wasn’t until Rusty fell victim to an attack that they decided to do something about it.
Inviting Rusty into their bed and lives turned out to be the easy part, but when Rusty reveals a secret, they discover the challenge will be keeping him there.
REVIEW:
Campus Cravings is my favourite Carol Lynne series and I’m an absolute addict when it comes to ménages. I see three men on the cover and I can’t whip my credit card out fast enough so I have been anticipating this book ever since we started getting hints and teases about shy little Rusty and his two sexy professors in the books previous to this one.
Some people may be thinking a virginal, introverted student being seduced into a ménage with two older and experienced professors sounds completely unethical. A couple of points – firstly, if you read the book it doesn’t really come off as creepy or inappropriate (sigh, I wanted it to). Secondly, if you have any qualms about this book then you should be careful about any Carol Lynne books you pick up in the future cause this author can write some delicious kink when the mood strikes her.
Overall I enjoyed this book but there were a few things that didn’t work for me and to be perfectly honest I feel a bit bad about just what my issues are. A few weeks ago I was discussing my love of ménages with an author who doesn’t really get the thrill and she explained that it’s normally the threesome’s dynamic that bugs her. She said that it seems as though many ménage stories revolve around an established toppy, dominant, whatever you want to call them couple who require a third to be their “bottom boy”. Of course I started spouting examples of ménage stories that aren’t like that at all, my favourite ménage stories feature three men who are most definitely “equal” in the bedroom but after that discussion I went searching for ménages of the type she described and I found that I have rather a weakness for them. I love me a bottom boy and after reading the blurb for this book, after being introduced to the characters in previous books, I thought that that was what I had here. Two toppy professors who were going to lay claim to Rusty’s ass. But that isn’t how the book worked and so I found myself disappointed. Which I’ll admit probably isn’t really fair of me because I was only disappointed after making my own assumptions. In fact, Rusty’s likes and dislikes (I’m trying not to be too specific) make for a rather unique dynamic between the men, and kudos to the author for changing it up. I really do hope that other readers appreciate it.
I liked the fact that the three men couldn’t effortlessly slide into their three-way relationship. It felt awkward and there were moments of jealousy and anger. Even sexually they didn’t just automatically work together.
While the ending came rather abruptly I’m satisfied with knowing that the three men will probably be popping up in future Campus Craving stories so I can hopefully keep track of them that way.
