REVIEW:
This has been such bittersweet ride but the ending was so incredibly worth it. This final chapter starts right where book 3 ended. Remy is torn between being upset that Jamie left and dealing with the grief of losing Miggy. On top of that Toby leaves in a fit of temper under the misassumption that Remy defiled Miggy’s memory by jumping into bed with Jamie the night of his funeral.
Remy reeling from the fight with Toby and Jamie leaving; buries his sorrow in massive amounts of alcohol. When he comes to, after 3 days, he decides to go after Toby who is in Las Vegas, which also happens to be where Jamie is doing his own investigation.
Throughout the mystery of looking for Toby, Jamie and Remy build on their attraction that has been growing for a couple years now. There’s still a lot of fear between the two because of their past but you can see they’re at a stage in their lives where they feel willing to try to make it work out.
They do end up tracking down Toby after they decide to make a go at their relationship. Due to unfortunate and tragic events they are separated yet again. When they part, however, it does feel different. Like maybe they will come back together and they will get their forever.
What I love most about this series was that no matter how much distance was between Remy and Jaime, when they came together, that love and connection was still as strong and intense as it was in book 1.
Something that was uniquely different in this book was the incredible emotion Jamie and Remy let themselves feel and show to one another. The soft kisses, sweet touches, loving words were just as meaningful as the slamming against the wall intense make out sessions.
It was so incredibly amazing to see these two finally get their HEA. Great read…highly recommend to those who are truly invested in Jamie and Remy’s happiness.
