Triad: Book Three
Blood runs soul-deep. Cormac hasn’t been the same since the night the High Moon Pack was attacked. With his magic weakened, he’s consumed by a bloodlust he hasn’t felt since he first became a vampire. His need to replenish his power makes him a danger to his last remaining family member, and his hunger makes him careless. And that’s just the beginning of his troubles. Feeding from pack beta Liam Benson was supposed to slake his appetite, not leave him craving more.
Simon Osborne and Gray Townsend are trying to fight a being history says shouldn’t exist—one with all three types of magic. The pack must use all of their resources to combat the mysterious triad, even turning to the shady Council of Mages for help. While Cormac struggles to reconcile his past failures with his current desires, Simon must attempt the impossible: an alliance between mind, body, and soul.
REVIEW:
This is my review for one of my fave paranormal books. It’s actually part of a Trilogy, I like the way the author calls the Series Triad. It makes more sense once you get started reading the books. I picked the 3rd book in the series because it for me as a reader and reviewer, brought the story together. All that harm and hurt that has occurred. All of the trauma that was inflicted…we see the light at the end of the tunnel. So, let’s get started!!
Cormac is the many greats-grandfather of Simon, who was one of the MC’s in the first book (Mind Magic). Cormac was a madge when he was alive. So, he had the gift of mind magic. Cormac was in love with a wolf, named Silas and they lived together and just lived a quiet life together when their life was thrown in turmoil when a vampire attacked and Cormac was turned. Alone, now in the world and battling his blood lust, Cormac hides away until he can gain control of his bloodlust. Cormac has descendants that he’s watched over. Cormac is finally getting the chance to get to know Simon and Simon’s new Pack. Cormack was hurt in the last round of battle and he’s been off kilter. Cormac strikes me as a very lonely man. He’s lived alone with his books and watches over his family…but there wasn’t anything else going for him…until Liam. Cormac is this wonderful character who just makes my heart hurt. He’s sweet and kind and yet, he can be dangerous if the situation calls for it.
Liam is the Beta for the High Moon Pack. Gray, who Liam has known his entire life is the Alpha for the High Moon Pack. Gray was also the other MC in the first book, Mind Magic. Liam has always done his very best to protect this Pack. To keep all that falls in his jurisdiction safe and healthy. Liam is one of those really sexy Alpha guys who is also one of the sweetest guys around. Liam has always been strong for others and now someone else is needing his strength…Cormac. Liam doesn’t understand why Cormac draws him, but he does. Liam goes out of his way to truly make sure that Cormac is ok and sticks by him, no matter what. Liam is the kind of guy that you would LOVE to have as a friend, because you know that he’d be there for you…day or night.
I really liked the characters in this trilogy. It was good to see Simon, Gray, Garon, Riley, Cade and Rocky again. I liked seeing how the characters that we met in the first and second book have grown. I really enjoyed the way that Garon and Riley, who these really wonderful kids, who have gone through so much are still able to be kids. I really liked how the author showed the resiliency of being a child. I liked seeing Simon and Gray grow closer as a couple. To see them truly accept each other and watch their love grow. It was nice to Cade and Rocky. I’m just sorry that we weren’t able to more of them in this story. Arthur, a madge in this book was quite a cool character. He really showed that not everything is what we’re taught and sometimes, we have to experience different things in order to make up our minds.
Now, I will say that it was great to see the continuation of the original storyline that was throughout the entire trilogy. That there was something evil out there and it was striking this Simon and the High Moon Pack. I really liked seeing that you got to delve deeper into who the bad guy was. How he was hidden throughout the entire series until now and WOW!! What a shocker. I really liked that twist of who this character is/was.
There was a bit of sex in this story and I have to say, it was really well done. It wasn’t without intimacy between the characters. You felt that it they were moving in that direction. It wasn’t rushed, it felt really natural in the way their relationship progressed.
This trilogy is one of my faves and I’m really glad that during our Paranormal Week I got to share with you one of my favorite stories that always makes me happy. So, sit back and get started on this wonderful trilogy, Triads!!
