Another GRL has come and gone. It seems like only yesterday I had registered, thinking it was such a long way off. Next thing I know I’m at the airport, then in Chicago, then the hotel, the writer’s workshop, my events, and soon heading back to the airport. Where does the time go? Next year’s will be in San Diego and I’m really hoping to go, even if I can’t get in as an author. I’ve never been to California and always wanted to visit, so why not get in a little sightseeing? Last year in Atlanta I went as a general attendee and had a fabulous time.
This year was my first year attending as a Featured Author, so I was a little nervous. I had three events: the Author Lounge, a panel on M/M Historical Romance, and the Featured Author Signing. All three events went better than I could have hoped for.
Thank you to everyone who came up to me to say hello or tell me how much they love the THIRDS. I was blown away by all the love for these fellas. I can’t speak for other authors, but for me, meeting readers and chatting with them was the most amazing experience of all. Then on top of that, I got to hang out with them and my fellow authors.
The Historical panel was so much fun! Of course I had the fabulous Jordan L. Hawk and Kate McMurray with me, so I was on cloud nine. The turnout was fantastic. Thank you to everyone who showed up at 9 a.m. on a Saturday morning after an evening of partying! I was asked about several series and what’s coming next. Here’s a summary: Hunter’s Heart – Little Bite of Love, Book 2 is with my publisher. More info on that soon as I have it. Bobby and Alexander are on my schedule for the next Auspicious Troubles of Love book. The THIRDS has releases from now until the end of days. And there will be more books in the Fallen Rose series, including a cross-over where Julius and Edward head to England to visit Jacky and the fellas at Hawthorne Manor.
The rest of the events were fabulous. I got to hug and chat to some of my fave authors, some of whom told me they loved the THIRDS series. Yep, just scoop me up from the floor. I got down and boogied at Totally Bound’s Totally Time Travel Costume Party. Well, the DJ played mostly 80s songs so you know I was ALL over that. My costume was in honor of all that 80s goodness a la Dynasty style with shoulder pads that all but reached my chin. Somewhere there’s probably a video of me dancing to Madonna’s Material Girl.
I attended the Nothing Better Than… Blue Notes event where Shira Anthony’s singing almost brought me to tears. It was incredible. Then there was karaoke and it was so much fun. Of course there were several brave souls who got up on stage to sing. Unfortunately, I need at least two cocktails before I attempt any type of singing in public.
Puppet!Ash accompanied me to my signing. He behaved himself for the most part, though he got a little cranky toward the end and kept falling over in protest. Typical Ash. Karrie Jax made the most amazing fan art for the THIRDS! It’s being framed so I can put it by my desk at home. On the last day I got to have breakfast and hang with some awesome folks. There were so many amazing people I chatted and hung out with that listing their names would equal another post. And of course, a big thank you to everyone who couldn’t attend who sent messages, emails, and followed the events on line. You support is always appreciated. So thank you so much to everyone who helped make my GRL an amazing success whether at the events or at home!

Thanks for the great post and pix! I am excited to learn that there will be a third Auspicious Troubles of Love book. That was news (great) to me.
Hi, Jen! Thank you so much for stopping by! There will most certainly be a third book in The Auspicious Troubles of Love series. Bobby and Alexander need their happily ever after.
Hi Charlie – Loved your thoughts on GRL and hoping you will be there next year in my hometown of San Diego – I’m really excited to be able to finally attend a GRL and would love to meet you. I’m a huge fan of your Thirds series 🙂
