AUTHOR: Sean Michael
PUBLISHER: Torquere Press
LENGTH: 224 pages
BLURB:
When Hunter Simms goes undercover at an underground BDSM party, the last thing he expects to see is SWAT’s leading shooter Keifer Magnessen bound, gagged, plugged and very bare. He is immediately drawn to Keifer, and wants to get to know his fellow cop better. Much better.
With such a high stress job, Keifer needs to give up control on his down time in order to decompress, but it’s a secret he holds close to his vest. So, when Hunter walks into his chosen place to submit, he tries to cut and run. Lucky for him, Hunter is shrewd, persistent and quite possibly just the Dom that Keifer needs.
Can these two strong men find a way to make their personal lives mesh?
REVIEW:
My one and only visit into the world of Sean Michael was the Jarhead series. I absolutely loved and hated the series, which I read in its entirety. There was so much sex, too much sex, and I never thought I’d ever say that. But in that specific series that’s all it was. No substance, no depth until book 3 or 4 in the series. Just sex, hot sex, mind you but I think it took away from the story Jarhead’s could have been.
So, needless to say I’m always hesitant when I come across a Sean Michael’s book. I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised I chose to see what this story was all about because the blurb was right up my alley.
Kiefer is a SWAT team sniper. The best of the best and he’s so focused on being the best it’s hard for him to focus on his needs. Hunter is a Detective in the same precinct and sees his colleague Kiefer in a very submissive display in a private Dom/sub party one night.
Hunter knew pretty much from the get go that he was the Dom Kiefer needed. Kiefer is, by nature, a fighter and Hunter loves a challenge.
They play and love together so beautifully until one horrific night where one of Kiefer’s enemies comes for them. Kiefer is severely wounded and Hunter steps up to the plate and takes care of him full time.
One thing I really missed in the first series I read from this author was it seemed like the whole relationship was built on sex. But with this story that wasn’t the case. It was amazing watching Kiefer and Hunter put their careers on the line just for the love they felt for each other. I never felt that I lacked that bond with this novel. It stressed heavily the Dom/sub role, which was seriously intense because we find out early on Kiefer’s limits are few and far between. This author is a master on the intense sexual relationship and he does it so incredibly well with these two. This was such a good fulfilling read…if you want some good BDSM, this is for you. I won’t be so hesitant anymore when it comes to this author.

I had read this and found the relationship built was believable and very strong; it was not relationship light like some of his books. Still very sexy too.
