REVIEW:
This is my flashback book review and I picked it because, this is my go to book. When I’ve read too many books for review and I just need some downtime, or I’ve read a really emotionally exhausting book, this book brings me back.
Reed Kensington is this young, hot attorney who is openly gay. He’s recently moved back to the states after working for some time abroad. Reed is the handsome, charming and very charismatic man. He’s heartless in the courtroom and in romance. However, the best part of Reed is that he’s also the most romantic guy. He’s not that way with anyone, however, just the man that is meant to be his. The family legend is that once a person in the Kensington family falls in love, it’s FOREVER!! Reed is really just playing around until then. Reed is such a sweet, patient-ish , loyal and very loving guy. However, he’s also an attorney, so be ware of getting on his bad side. He can be a bit of a shark when need be.
Trevor West…golly, what to say about him? Trevor makes me want to just wrap him in my arms and keep him safe. Trevor is that really sweet, loyal guy that you want in your life. You know, the kind that you call and you know that he’ll be there to help you. Trevor has been wrestling with being gay, insomuch that he’s had a crush on one of his best friends, Brody…the resident player. Trevor is just this really sweet, shy, loyal, kind and generally an all around nice guy. One of the sweetest things about Trevor is that he’s been saving himself for just the right guy and he meets him during the wedding weekend of his other best friend, Rylie.
The secondary characters in this book helped our guys along their journey towards being a couple. Rylie, who is Reed’s brother and one of Trevor’s best friends. Rylie is actually the cause of them meeting, it’s his wedding that has our MC’s meeting. Rylie loves his older brother and his parents. Rylie’s loyalty to Trevor and Brody is unparalleled. Brody is the other friend and Trevor’s secret crush. He’s that playa-playa guy who even though he’s Trevor’s friend, he’s also that douche guy that hurts you because he can. He wants to win at everything and by everything, I mean sleep with those who Trevor might want. Jerk!! Mr. & Mrs. Kensington…Reed and Rylie’s parents, they are surrogate parents for Trevor as well. Mrs. K, loves Trevor and would do anything to make sure that he’s happy, the way a mother would for any of her children.
The romance between these two men is just so touching. I loved every moment that these two guys spent together. It’s so much fun to be able to watch playboy and the soldier falling in love. The way that Reed takes the time to quell Trevor’s nerves and allows him to just be himself. The way that these two men fit together was just magical. The few intimate scenes that were on screen were both tender, loving and sexy. You could feel the attraction between them. How attraction moved towards love and just how they moved closer together.
I just love this book. I love the sweetness, the low angst and the pleasure of watching two great guys have the chance to fall in love. I have this silly grin on my face just thinking about this book. I swear, reading this book, each time, it truly brings me back to happy. It’s just that book that makes you smile and allows all the other stuff to just melt away. You get so caught up in the romance of the story and you just don’t want it to end.
Take the chance and fall in love with Reed, Trevor and the crew. You’ll fall in love right along with them.
