TITLE: Curling Iron
SERIES: A Bad Boyfriends Novella
AUTHOR: Nya Rawlyns
PUBLISHER: Nya Rawlyns
LENGTH: 118 pages
BLURB: Kane leads a double life. By day, he pumps iron, running a fitness center, where jocks and Cougars flock for the burn and the ‘tude. By night, it’s something else entirely that gets pumped, as Kane swaps sweats for Armani to cater to an exclusive clientele, willing to pay well to indulge their special interests and tastes. His double life isn’t a problem until his conniving ex tightens the financial screws.
Finding and retaining suitable companions for his after-dark clients isn’t easy. David Black’s pole dancing performance at a friend’s club hints that he might hit all the bullet points on Kane’s list of requirements, in a way that could mean something other than “just business.”
David is out of work and out of options, so when he’s offered the choice of starvation or performing both on and off the stage, it’s a no-brainer. Kane’s offer of a position with the escort service is as attractive as the man himself, and David agrees to a trial period involving certain conditions. He quickly finds that he’s out of his depth.
Confronted with unanticipated roadblocks, one thing is clear… neither man is taking no for an answer.
REVIEW:
I absolutely enjoyed reading this story. First of all, I liked how the setting was created. It was a business environment where two agencies were competing with each other because of the founders of the agencies were involved with each other in the past. There were some dealings happening for David to keep his business reputation intact so I found myself engrossed in his business dealings and struggles. At one stage, I even wanted to hop into the story to start promoting for his business and sew sexy dancing shorts for Kane. As a reader you will find yourself taking sides and getting protective of your heroes. The way the writer portrayed the escorting business in her story and those who were in it was simply captivating. The plot was easy to get caught up in it and is very engaging. The dialogue was totally enjoyable with no fluffy chats and declarations of love…all dialogue was written firmly in a sexy masculine tone.
I loved David and Kane who were the main characters in the story. They were sexy, charismatic, lovable yet fallible wounded heroes. The dialogue between these two was engaging because as a reader one can visualise how these two were were hurting deep down and were trying to be cautious. There is subtle wit in the story which endears Kane and David even more to the readers. The oozing sensuality and eroticism was only the icing on the cake.
But you know what made this story stand out for me is the way Nya wrote it; I felt like I was in the story. I was able to watch Kane dancing through David’s eyes. I felt his tingles!
I then felt like I was in Kane’s character when I read his initial sorrow and then his contentment in David’s arms.
The bantering between this two made them appear like they were living and breathing.
David and Kane were meant to be together and you will know why when you read this story.
Nya Rawlyns wrote her story with her typical sexy masculine tone which again made me swoon over the characters. I can’t wait to read the next one!!!!
