Today we have with us Author Andrew Grey answering a few quick questions for us about his new release Love Comes Around
He also generously offered a double giveaway on the end of this post that also includes Danielle review of this story!
Welcome Andrew !
First let me say it is my pleasure to welcome you back at Love Bytes.
You just released your new novel “Love Comes Around” The 4th part in the Senses series.
Can you tell us something about this series for the people who aren’t familliar with it or are new and interested in exploring this series ?
A: This series centers around the varous senses. The first centers around hearing and speech, the second and third around sight, and the fourth one is the sense of touch. All of the stories touch the most important sensory organ, the heart.
Can you tell us what inspired you to write a series on such delicates subjects as you address in this series?
A: I wish I knew. I got the idea for the first story while i was at the opera and wondered what it would be like for a singer to lose his ability to speak. That was the beginning of the character of Patrick. Each of the stories also involve children who have their own challenges and require a special kind of love.
Is there a couple that touched you in a very unexpected different way , meaning completely opposite of what you thought they would do when you started writing ?
A: Yes. Love Comes in Darkness touched me so very deeply. Its the first story I wrote that’s completely form the perspective of the blind character. The entire process of writing that book blew me away.
Do you have a connection to the people you create in your stories ? are they based on real people or on real life stories?
A: I have a connection with each of them because I spend a lot of time with each couple. Usually I don’t base characters on real people, but I pull characteristics from real people. There have bene exceptions, Lonnie form the Gym series comes to mind.
Of course I just cannot miss the opportunity to ask you if there will be more senses stories coming?
A: Its a good possibility. I’m thinking there will be one more, but I’m not ready to write it yet.
And also I am curious to learn about your future writing plans?
A: There are alot of stories coming. There will be a new deries. Fire and Water is the first story. There are also two more Young Adult stories as Geoff Laughton, Under the Stars will release in October and the next in early 2015. A Senses Series Story
Dan was a throwaway child and learned to take care of himself in foster care. As an adult, he devotes his life to the business he started and his heart to raising children no one else wants. Dan has already adopted six-year-old Lila, who walks on crutches, and then decides to adopt eight-year-old Jerry, who suffers from MD and is confined to a wheelchair.
Also abandoned as a child, Connor ended up on his own and retreated into himself. He works as a carpenter and woodcarver and is the perfect man to ensure Dan’s home becomes wheelchair accessible.
When Dan hires Connor, neither of the men are ready to open their hearts to the possibility of love. As they learn how much they have in common, both of them must weigh the possibility of family and a future against the risks of getting hurt again
Review:
First let me start with saying this series is like a treasure of beautiful yet delicate subjects.
Told with such care and all through a different and unique angle.
This story feels like coming home, like a warm bath. There is so much love and tenderness there, so much bonding and family feeling,.
When we meet Dan and Connor they are the main characters to this story. The romance is theirs but still the true heroes of this story are Lila and Jerry. I dare you to read this story and not to fall in love, hard and completely with these children.
The author takes us on a trip where we first see how a miscommunication could have very well been the reason this story would have never happened. He takes us through both men personal issues that create drama in some places, showing great emotion in orders or deliberate distance.
I do wish I could have seen Dan’s house and the wooden creations of Connor but I sure have them imagined in my mind.
After the last chapter I was a bit worried but thankfully there is a wonderful epilogue.
The only comment I can make on this story that there were some things that could have been longer but that is the only thing I can come up with if I need to mention something.
Author Andrew Grey yet again works his magic and shows he is absolutely a master in the contemporary field of m/m stories. His writing is flawless his, vision unique and his style splendid.
Being a fan, and I am not denying that I’m a huge fan, makes me like some series or stories more than others and I think that’s how it should be but regarding this series, you cannot go wrong. I can honestly say the Senses series is “Senses”tional 😉
