TITLE: Strapping Ash
SERIES: Crow Creek #3
AUTHOR: Nya Rawlyns
PUBLISHER: PubRight
LENGTH: 184 pages
BLURB:
For gentle Oak, his husband Ash is “the man he loved but wasn’t sure he always liked.”
The reappearance of Ash MacBryde’s old lover has sent Oak flying back to Vermont and into the employ of a man determined to win a chance to race at World’s in Dubai.
To Oak’s delight and dismay, the man who brought him out of the bolted closet is there too, working for the same man with the same end. They will be partners on horseback … and if Ben Kincaid has his way, in other ways as well.
Someone holds a grudge against Oak’s new employer; and as the race approaches, the dirty tricks escalate until no one is safe.
Oak and Ben are in danger, and when Ash shows up to bring his man back home, there’s more at stake than just a shot at a million dollar purse.
Maybe there’s just one sure way for the reclusive Oak to face his domineering, possessive man. It’s called STRAPPING ASH.
REVIEW:
“A Crow Creek Novel” series continues to be intensely emotional, passionate, dramatic and engaging with “Strapping Ash”.
By now we all know how intense, belligerent, alpha Ash is but in this story, we also understand a little more why Ash is the way he is. He learns to eat the humble pie and allow Oak to see his vulnerabilities to deal with his past.
From the first story in the series, Ash and Oak fall in love and get together. As a reader you will see, all is not perfect for this young couple because they both appear to find it hard to “talk” with each other but they love each other so they soldier on.
The second story “Pulling Leather” was painful and hurtful leaving you with a strong urge to grab the next story which is exactly what I did when I picked the third story “Strapping Ash”.
This story was like a soothing cream to my aching heart over the second story. Ash redeemed himself in my eyes. That is all I am going to say so that you go through the emotions I did. This story was awesome!
There was danger, suspense, passion, camaraderie, some healing, and making peace with the past. I got to see why Ash is the way he is and how Oak becomes stronger as a man to the point he could contain and comfort his man as well as his buddy Ben who is a new addition to the series.
Let me tell you why I love Nya Rawlyns’ stories. Her stories makes make sense to me and I can visualise the scenery as if I lived there.
Her plots and suspense keeps me on edge to the point I stay up to see what happened next. Her characters are wounded heroes who are truly wounded.
They are fallible human being with dreams, wishes and desires who makes mistakes to grow internally. They may be handsome guys but that is all. They struggle with financial issues. They suffer the indignities of splinters on their backsides.
They learn to shed a few tears without shame. They learn to be humble at the end of their stories as well as finding their happy ends.
