Last Saturday we had the inaugural UK Gay Romance Book Signing at The Railway Tavern in Liverpool Street, London. It was a great successful for readers and writers alike. In the middle of July I tentatively approached a few authors, asking if they would like to have a book signing somewhere in London. The answer was a resounding YES!!! WHEN??? Oh well, I thought I’d better do it. I expected maybe 20 people, most of them authors, but I didn’t anticipate what a wonderful genre we have.
My friend and assistant, Amelia, found some venues and we went to explore them. We ended up at The Railway Tavern in Liverpool Street. It was directly opposite the station and had the added advantage of a split level for readings and signings. We did learn that we need a separate room for the readings. First thing on the list for next time. I didn’t sleep too well beforehand, but Amelia and Rebecca (my daughter) had everything organised. I got told to mingle and do whatever authors do. We tend to hide away in corners and type. Not today. Today we played.
Thank you to everyone who attended our fist book signing, especially our surprise and very welcome guest, Dirk Caber. K.C. Wells kept that quiet! Next time… oh yes, they’ll be a next time. Possibly one in the north and one in the south next year.
We also raised over £200 for the Albert Kennedy Trust, the UK charity for helping LGBT Youth. Thank you to everyone who contributed prizes.
Here are some photos from the day.
And because I got ‘dared’ to post this!
~//~ Sue Brown’s new book, The Last Wolf, is now out. The only good predator is a dead one, as far as Joe Lowther is concerned. That is until the day he shoots a wolf, only to watch the animal turn into a naked Callum Pope. Cal is being hunted by a group of humans who eradicate shifter packs for sport. Joe makes a decision to help Cal and discovers a deeper connection with the young shifter. One which he’d like to explore. If they live that long.
