Title : The Last Wolf (Sapphire Ranch Wolves – #1)
Author : Sue Brown
Publisher : Love Lane Books
The only good predator is a dead one, as far as Joe Lowther is concerned.
That is until the day he shoots a wolf, only to watch the animal turn into a naked Callum Pope. Cal is being hunted by a group of humans who eradicate shifter packs for sport.
Joe makes a decision to help Cal and discovers a deeper connection with the young shifter. One which he’d like to explore. If they live that long.
How long have you been writing?
I’ve been writing for nearly eight years.
I woke up from a nap to see Captain Jack Harkness dance and kiss with the real Captain Jack (in Torchwood), and I suddenly knew I could write this.
It took another couple of years for me to get the courage to write longer stories, but the last seven years have been a real learning curve for me. I’m still proud of my early stories (The Night Porter, Nothing Ever Happens and Chance to be King) but I notice how much my writing has changed since the early days.

The woman at the checkout stared at them expectantly, and Joe realized she was waiting for payment. Hastily he dug out his wallet and handed her the card. Joe was finding it difficult to focus on an argument in his head and do something at the same time. He felt Cal’s smug amusement in his head.
Joe shoved the bag of clothes into Cal’s arms. “Get changed. We need to get to the hospital.”
Cal scowled at him, but he took the bag and went off to the bathrooms.
“I know just how you feel,” the woman said.
Joe stared at her. “Sorry?”
“My teenage son is a pain in the ass too.”
Joe’s jaw dropped. She thought…? Oh fuck no! He gave her a tight smile and followed Cal.
Cal emerged from the bathroom wearing the new clothes and looking frankly edible, but Joe wasn’t going there.
“Let’s go,” he muttered, stomping out of the store.
“What put a stick up your ass?” Cal asked as he hurried to keep up.
“Nuthin’.”
“Did that woman say something?”
“You could say that.” Joe kept walking.
“What did she say? If she was homophobic, you could complain to the management.”
“Nothing like that.”
“What, then?”
“She said she understood what I was going through because she also had a teenage son who was a pain in the ass.”
“She thought I was your son?” He started laughing as Joe turned away in disgust. “Joe, come back, you have to admit it’s funny.”
“Yeah, very funny.”
“As funny as being called ‘kid’ all the time?”
Joe refused to admit Cal had a point. “I feel like a cradle robber.”
“You haven’t felt anything yet.”

First, really Marmite! YUCK LOL! 🙂
The He’s mine for always, is what draws me to shifter bks
There’s no one thing that draws me to shifters; it’s the alpha part, the changing into different forms, the mating forever, and on and on. I love shifters! (and vamps)
It’s their undying love!
Love the aplha-ness. Not sure that’s even a word!
One of my favorite part of wolf shifter stories is they can sense their mate and that they mate for life!
I love wolf shifters because you may be short and small but because of your genetics you have extra strength. THen you have the ALphas
The best thing about werewolves, for me, is their over protectiveness of their mates. LOL.. the whole alpha male thing? yeah, I love it. XD
My favorite thing is the sense of family and the bonds that exist between the characters.
Thank you for having me here!
