Welcome to Cathia University, where school is in session! Nine of today’s hottest gay romance authors have crafted brand-new interrelated novellas celebrating everything wonderful about college, with over 200,000 words featuring sophisticated professors, sexy teaching assistants, ambitious grad students, and spirited undergraduates, all looking for the same thing: an A+ in true love.
Gage Tackett comes off as a bad boy—detached and maybe a little dangerous; definitely not Vet Sciences Professor Derek Paulson’s type. When Gage arrives at Derek’s veterinary clinic with a frostbitten stray dog, Derek realizes his most difficult student has a few things to teach him. Things he’s more than willing to learn.
REVIEW:
This is the story of a boy and his dog and the man who learns he can open his heart and love both of them.
Gage Tackett is at Cathia after returning from Afghanistan with a medical discharge. He is studying Veterinary Science in the hopes of finding a new direction after his military career ended. Professor Derek Paulson is a rather uptight, controlled man who had trouble dealing with people – he much prefers animals, they are straight forward and honest and you know exactly where you stand with them.
When Gage finds a starving, injured dog in the snow, he takes the dog to the closest Veterinary clinic, which just happens to be Dr. Paulson’s. Since Gage can’t keep the dog in his apartment, Derek agrees to take him home, but Gage has to come take care of him when Derek is not there. So begins the dance between the two men. Derek is attracted to Gage, but he fights it because Gage is his student and he doesn’t have relationships. Gage sees the man behind Derek’s arrogant exterior and likes what he sees. He knows if he wants Derek he will need to go after him.
I really liked this story; Gage and Derek are to lonely men who find something in each other they didn’t know they were missing. Watching them lower their defenses and learning to open up to each other made for a satisfying read.
I have always enjoyed Bianca Sommerland’s books and this story was no exception.

I’ve only read a couple of Bianca’s Dartmouth Cobras books, so it’s cool to see her try a new genre!
This one sounds great! Ex-Military man meets a Vet and a dog too! What’s not to like.
