Welcome Mari!!
Hi there, my name is Mari Evans and I’m here with my two main characters Lauri and Sam from my new novel Trusting Love.
Laurie is the one who inspired the story. (Laurie salutes with a big grin on his face) He’s still very young but that didn’t stop him from wanting Sam here. (Sam pulls Laurie against him with an indulgent smile)
“So Laurie, tell me something about yourself so the readers can get to know you a bit.” Mari encourages Laurie with a smile and a nod.
“Weeeeeell Mari” Laurie grins confidentially, “I’m grumpy in the morning, I like to dance, I looove coffee and I can cook a mean lasagne…”
Mari holds up her hand to stop Laurie, “That’s not quite what I meant, sweetie. Can’t you just tell the readers something about how and where you two met, how old you were at the time and maybe a bit of background info.”
Sam answers this time. “Hi everyone, I’m Sam Davies and this brat here is Laurie Stallon and he’s going to behave himself and not embarrass Mari on her first blog tour post. Right Laurie!”
Rolling his eyes and sighing exaggerated Laurie replies, “Yeah yeah, alright already. You two have no sense of humour.” He grins as Sam takes a playful swipe at him.
“Okay, where do I start?”
“At the beginning of your story, when you two meet. How old were you?” Mari tries to lead the conversation back in the right direction.
“I was seventeen, and volunteering at an animal shelter. Sam was the new vet, and hot as hell. He still is of course, but don’t tell the arrogant prick that, or he’ll be even more insufferable.” Laurie laughs and ducks when Sam tries to slap him on the back of his head.
“See what I have to endure here, people?” Sam makes a face as if he’s suffering deeply, but has trouble hiding a grin. Mari is trying not to laugh, but fails miserably.
“Laurie, please focus. The readers really want to learn more about you two. I’ll just ask Sam a question now, and come back to you later.” Turning toward Sam, Mari puts on her serious face.
“Sam, what can you tell us about how you two met. Was it love at first sight, or did you find Laurie a total brat?”
“Hey, I resent that. Besides you know the whole story already, you wrote it!”
“Yes we know that Laurie, but she wants me to tell the story, so the readers can get a feel of the story and decide if they want to read it or not.” Sam still sounds patient, but Mari is starting to ground her teeth a little.
“I know I created you, Laurie Stallon, but for the love of all that’s holy, work with me here…argh.” Mari raises her hands and eyes to the sky, as if asking for strength from above.
“I met Laurie and was attracted to him, yes. But I knew he was too young for me. He has a way of growing on people, though. Besides, when I got to know him, I learned what he’d gone through and how he had grown up fast. In a way he was more mature and wiser than I was.” Sam looks down at Laurie lovingly.
“I was instantly attracted to Sam. For me, it was love at first sight. We had some bumps in the road, but we’ve made it, so it was all worth it.” Laurie leans against Sam, letting Sam support his weight. “It was unsure for a while if we’d ever get there, but thanks to someone’s interference we worked it out.”
Mari looks at her watch. “Great, now our time is up. I might still have enough time to add that Laurie wasn’t this annoying when I was writing his story. He actually was kinda sweet and innocent.”
Laurie snorts. “Sure, if that lets you sleep at night, we’ll go with that.” Sam puts his hand over Laurie’s mouth before Laurie gets a chance to say anything else.
“Yes he was, Mari. He still is, but he’s more secure in his own skin now, so he likes to act out a bit. Making up for his lost childhood innocence I guess.” Sam chuckles, but yelps when Laurie bites his hand.
“Let me say goodbye to the readers of the Love Bites blog, and thank Dani for having us. I’m sorry for Laurie’s behaviour, I had no idea he’d be so aggravating now. I swear he wasn’t when I created him.”
Sam kisses Laurie firmly on the mouth, shutting him up effectively. When he lifts up his head, Laurie looks dazed. “Say bye to the readers, honey.”
“Bye…” Laurie says weekly and Sam chuckles again.
“Enjoy our story, it’s a sweet one, or so we’ve been told.” Sam waves and Mari shakes her head at how easily Laurie has been shut up.
“Couldn’t you’ve done that sooner? This whole thing could’ve been way less chaotic and more informative.” Mari sounds annoyed, but Sam can see the humour in her eyes, so he just shrugs and smiles.
“Oh well, this was it. If you want more, just read the book.” Mari sighs and turns to Laurie. “I hope you’re better in private, or I’ll regret fixing you up with poor Sam here.” Then she winks at Sam, before quickly leaving.
Sam bursts out laughing and Laurie snickers when they follow Mari.

Author’s Bio:
Mari Evans is a wife and the proud mother of a very active daughter, two dogs and two cats. She’s a very social kind of girl, who loves to talk. It’s both her best and worst quality.
From the moment she could read, she devoured books. Anything goes, as long as it has a happy ending.
There were always stories swirling around in her head and as a child she liked to lay in bed and let the characters have their story and happy ending. It wasn’t until 2013 that she actually tried to put one of the whole stories down and submit it to a publisher. To her own surprise and excitement it was accepted. This gave her the drive to keep going.
The decision to write m/m was made when a friend told a story about a young gay man that struck a chord, even as her husband had already encouraged her to try it earlier.
Now she found her passion, having already found the love in her family and friends, her life is completely chaotic, crazy but wonderful.
Laurie Stallon isn’t like other high schoolers. After suffering years of abuse at his father’s hands, he now lives in a foster care facility and finds solace volunteering at the local animal shelter. Laurie’s had to grow up fast, and even though his eighteenth birthday is still weeks away, he’s more adult than most adults he knows. When he meets Dr. Sam Davies, the new shelter veterinarian, the attraction is instant. They become friends at work, but Laurie knows Sam will never go for someone like him. No matter how Laurie tries to prove his maturity to Sam, Sam continues to reject him as too young. Needing a distraction, Laurie goes out dancing for his birthday and finds his life in danger yet again. When Sam is called to the hospital, he realizes Laurie needs someone to care for him. Sam takes him home, and they slowly build a relationship. But more than their age difference works against them. Facing the disapproval of friends and the scars from Laurie’s past, they’ll need to put all their trust in love for a chance at a future together.
