Today we give a warm Love Bytes welcome to author Stephani Hecht .
She is joining us on our GRL featured bloggers tour talking about Thank you’s and offering a giveaway to a Lucky winner 🙂
Welcome Stephani
Thanks
First off, I want to apologize for this post being so short and disorganized. My life has been a bit hectic lately and time got away from me. So, when Danielle politely emailed me and reminded me that it was my turn to blog today I had one of those Cathy ‘Ack!’ moments. Yes, I know I am dating myself by admitting that I used to read that comic. So, shhhhh…..let’s just keep that secret to ourselves.
I do feel mighty old, too, after this summer. I was in the hospital once, had surgery another time and every damn instance they made me wear one of those gowns. You know the ones that don’t close in the back. One time, I had my Starfighter undies on, so on my butt I had this big picture of Cain spanking Able. I’m sure I gave everybody a great show with that one.
That’s not what I wanted this blog to center on, though. What I wanted to do was to give a thanks. It’s a simple word, but we so often forget to use it. Not only that, but that little word can make somebody feel so appreciated and cared for.
I want to thank all my readers. Each one of you are so dear to me. Without you I wouldn’t be able to do what I’ve always dreamed of, being a working author. I want to thank my publishers and editors. I would name you all, but the list is so long it would fill up the entire page. You have guided my career and have taught me to be a better writer. Most of all, I want to thank the coordinators of GRL.
If it weren’t for Carol, Ethan, Teresa and Reese, we wouldn’t have a GRL. I have attended every year and each time I have loved the experience. Not only does it give me a chance to meet my readers, but it’s so great to be among others who love M/M romance as much as I do. The coordinators work year round for this event and all on a volunteer status. They do so much for all of us, more than we’ll ever realize. So, let’s give them all a great big ‘thanks’. They’ve more than earned it.
Now, let’s get down to the giveaway time. I’ll choose randomly from the comments below and the winner will get a PDF version of, An Owl Surfaces, the first book in my new series The Flushing Owls.
Hope to see you at GRL. If you see me wandering around, please, don’t hesitate to come up and say hi to me.
-Stephani
Sometimes the one love you seek is closer than you ever imagined.
As an Elf Owl shifter, Kayden is the smallest one in his parliament. But, that hasn’t stopped him from being an important member. An IT tech, he can hack his way into any computer system. Plus, he’s in charge of his own group’s security. Now, if he could only get their leader, Austin, to notice Kayden for something more than his technical skills.
Austin takes his job as the leader of his small parliament of Owls seriously, which leaves little time for himself. However, he can’t help but notice the cute, small tech, Kayden. But, Austin knows he has no time for romance. Not if he wants to keep his group safe.
Will Austin and Kayden find a way to get together? Or are they forever doomed to be alone?
Gene went into the bathroom, then came out a few moments later. While he appeared to be wearing the same clothing, Gene knew that damn green thong was on underneath it all. It both turned Leon on and angered him at the same time. For some reason, he felt that he should be the only one to see Gene’s body, not a bunch of nameless, horny men who were waving dollar bills around.
Gene grabbed his backpack and stuffed his book in it. “That should about do it. They said I get a free lunch and that they’ll grease me up once I’m there.”
Leon balled his hands into tight fists. He. Would. Not. Kill. He’d promised Austin that he’d keep hold of his temper after the last incident, when some jerk frat boy had dared to mouth off to Leon. Leon still didn’t know what the big deal was. All he’d done was taken out his knife and slash all the guy’s tires. The asshole hadn’t even gotten out of his car, so there wasn’t any real confrontation. So, in Leon’s opinion, the whole thing had been way overblown.
Besides, he reminded himself once again, it wasn’t as if Gene was his. That meant that Leon didn’t own him or anything. So Gene could run naked through the streets and Leon would have no say in it.
“Okay then. Let’s go,” Leon said.
Gene gaped at him. “You were actually serious when you said you were going to come and watch over me?”
“You bet.”
“Why? I’m going to be in the cage the entire time. How much safer can I be?”
“You still have to walk to and from there. I’m pretty sure this bar isn’t in the best of neighborhoods.”
Gene crossed his arms over his chest. “I can take care of myself.”
“Sure, that’s why you were captured and kept in a cell for five years.”
That comment got Leon a dirty look.
“Low blow,” Gene snapped. “Besides, when they caught me, I was way outnumbered. There was no way I could have fought them all off. Not even you would have been capable, and you fight like a fricking superhero.”
Leon couldn’t help but smile at the comment. “You think that much about my fighting skills?”
Gene let out a huff. “Come on. Like you don’t know you fight better than Arnold, Seagal, and Van Damme combined. You just want to hear me say it, so I can inflate that already mega ego of yours.”
Now it was Leon’s turn to gape. “I don’t have an ego.”
“Please, your ego is so huge I’m surprised there’s room for the rest of us in the house.”
And that was the crux of Leon’s problem. He didn’t know whether to strangle Gene or kiss him. He did know one thing, he’d better figure it out fast, or he was going to go crazy. This little menace was beginning to occupy all of Leon’s thoughts. Since Leon was the head of the Parliament’s security, that was not a good thing. If Leon had one little slip up, it could affect the whole group.
Letting out a small growl, Leon said, “Let’s just get going.”

I wish to first show my appreciation, so thank you Stephani for giving me a chance to win this wonderful book, I love owls and belong to a Raptor support group that rescues and returns as many birds of prey then can to their natural environment after injury, or keep them safe if they cannot.
Secondly, thank you also to Love Bytes and their crew of reviewers for creating this post and all the other post I have enjoyed reading 🙂

We went to Fort Worth Nature Center one night for a guided tour to find an owl. Unfortunately, even with recorded owl calls we didn’t have any luck. An owl shifter book is the next best thing. It sounds great. 🙂
I love your books and I’m always waiting for the next one. I wish they were just a little longer though.
