Where do I Write?
My name is T.A. Chase, and in case you don’t know, I write m/m romance. Thanks so much for having me here today.
I thought I’d talk about where I write. To be honest, I write in my living room sitting on my couch. It’s comfortable and I can wear my pajamas all day if I wanted to. Usually, I do tend to dress in regular clothes while I’m writing. Makes it feel like I’m doing work.
The thing is I can write anywhere. I keep a notebook in my purse and a billion pens. When I’m waiting in line or at the doctor’s, I’ll pull out the book and write. Whether it’s a scene for the work in progress or just a new scene that popped into my head, I’ll make sure I have it written down. Because I can’t guarantee that I’ll actually remember it when I get home.
As long as I have pen and paper, I will write anywhere. Restaurants, at the beach, in my car at the bank. I never know when the inspiration might strike and I’ll come up with an awesome sentence that I need to use because it’s utterly brilliant.
I seem to have an irritating ability to block any outside distraction when the story is flowing. The characters talk louder than any real person that might be around me. Also, sometimes a real conversation is too good and should be immortalized, without incriminating anyone of course. Lol
Once the words take hold, I need to get them out and having to take time away from writing doesn’t help, so being able to write anywhere helps. I don’t have to wait or hit the pause button on the voices in my head. I can keep the magic flowing and not worry about them suddenly going silent, which is the most annoying thing in the world for a writer.
When I wrote Mountains to Climb, my short story for the What’s his Passion? line, I did a few scenes while waiting at a restaurant for friends. That’s one of the great things about being a writer. It’s a portable job.
Thanks for having me today and please take a peek at the six books that are part of the launch for What’s his Passion?

Sometimes the past can be the biggest mountain to climb.
Toby Schwartzel has never forgotten Jensen Brockhoff, the man he loved and the one who disappeared six years ago. He thinks he’s moved on, but when Jensen appears again and wants to explain what happened, Toby realises he hasn’t gotten over Jensen. He’d only built up walls to keep from being hurt again.
Jensen Brockhoff left New York City and Toby Schwartzel for several reasons. All of them had to do with drugs and alcohol. He’s clean now and the only thing he’s addicted to is mountain climbing. His passion for the sport has got him through the last six years. But after a particularly harrowing fall on Denali, Jensen knows he has to go back to tell Toby the truth.
Will Toby and Jensen discover they’d never moved past the love they had for each other all those years ago? Or are the mountains between them too high to climb?
