Ethan interviews Adam and Javi
Ethan Stone: I’d like to welcome Adam Brand and Javier Campos, the stars of my newest story, Vegas Hustle. Thank you for being here.
Adam Brand: You’re welcome.
Javier Campos: Yeah, whatever.
ES: Adam, you lost a friend during this ordeal, is that right?
AB: Yes, Dean and I had been buddies for years. Our fathers have been business associates since he was young.
ES: Dean was gay, too. Did you guys ever do anything together?
AB: We kissed once when we were young, when we both realized we were queer. But there wasn’t a connection. We decided it was better if we stayed just friends.
ES: Javier, you’re a hustler, is that right?
JC: Yeah, when you’re on the street you have to do what you can to survive.
ES: Did you ever have something bad happen with a customer?
JC: I told Adam about this, but one time a dude wanted to handcuff me. Then he took off and left me there. After that I learned to dislocate my thumbs so I can slip out of cuffs.
ES: That is a handy trick.
JC: Hell, yeah.
ES: Adam, you were pretty sheltered at the beginning of the story. Why is that?
AB: My dad is awesome. We traveled all the time. He’s an excellent businessman, but he found a way to excel at both his job and being a parent. I never felt the need to rebel because he’d given me such a wonderful life.
ES: What about your mother?
AB: She was basically a surrogate. Dad wanted a child but not a wife. I’ve never met her. Never felt the need.
ES: What about your family, Javier?
JC: Don’t have any. Not anymore. Left them behind a long time ago and don’t need them.
ES: What’s next with you two? Are you in a relationship?
AB: Yes, we are. I care about Javi a great deal. I don’t know what the future holds, but I hope we’ll be together for a long time.
JC: Yeah, Adam’s great to me. Treats me better than I deserve. Things are good right now. I haven’t had that for a long time, not ever really.
ES: Thanks for sitting with me guys. I look forward to seeing what happens next.
AB: Me, too. I hope it’s our Happily Ever After.
