Review:
Holy Freaking Hell! WOW! Slumps back in chair….I need to let this sink I really need to let this…..Wow
I don’t think that even after a week recovered that I’ve recovered yet. This was intense, bloody, gruesome, and not for the weak hearted! It was very well detailed, expressive and all consuming to say the very least.
As I mentioned the story isn’t for the tender minded. It is very explicit in describing the mentioned murder scene’s and I shivered a few times at how expressive it was written down by the author, and I don’t consider myself as weak hearted or careful at all.
You shouldn’t pick up this story if you cannot deal with the explicit descriptions of blood and pain and horror I would even say. This is just not your story.
If you can deal with those things and look beyond it all, you’ll see a fantastic , sensational story. It’s so wonderfully written that it keeps you informed and interested from beginning to end.
I could tell more about the story but I think with a story like this, it is about how you personally experience reading it, when it comes with what sounds like almost a manual.
I stepped a bit out of my comfort zone in picking this up but I don’t regret it for a moment.
You follow the life of detective Alex, experiencing through his eyes what he sees while the murders take place. You read about his rekindling of his lovelife with reporter Vince
and you follow them on their quest to find the killer, who as expressed in the blurb also seems to have a personal angle towards Alex.
Where does Vince fit in. He loves Alex he wants to make sure that they will make it this time around after failing the first time. He wants to make Alex see that what they have is too good to lose a second time around. The sexual attraction is very much there and really nicely described by Daniel Kaine.
Then when we get towards the end of the book we see more and more shocking things or should I say unexpected things? You hear and notice things that get you even more drawn in than in the beginning. What’s happening here; what doesn’t fit; what works what doesn’t; what is it that feels off…
The end I can only say blew me away and till this day still I am astonished and rattled I cannot believe I read what I read. I am kind of devastated and still wonder if I really wished to have read that end. But that is of course personal!
If you go for a different, exceptional read and you can do blood and gore. This will be the book for you. If you like a thriller plot, good scenes, some well placed hotness, and extremely talented writing, you are at the right address.
Jump on the knife and let it cut you through this novel.
