You’d think that blogging once a month here at Love Bytes would be easy. I mean, that’s only twelve times a year I have to come up with interesting things to say, right? Well, I didn’t have to this month, because this post is all about the shameless self-promotion.
Almost wrote selfless shame-promotion there. I’m not sure what that is, but I reckon I could get behind it…
So, this month JA Rock and I released Another Man’s Treasure. We’re calling it a psychological thriller, because we don’t know what else to call it. It’s MM, but it’s not a romance, and, in the interests of full disclosure, you may hate us for the ending. And also a lot of stuff that happens in the middle. And the beginning. But mostly the end.
And I promise we didn’t write it that way to screw with readers’ mind. We wrote it because sometimes life is messy, sometimes it’s cruel and sometimes it’s beautiful, and sometimes there are no happy ever afters.
In the end, I can only say about Another Man’s Treasure what I say about all my books: If you read it, I hope you like it.
Here is the blurb, and the links:
Ilia Porter is Chechen mob boss Mikhail Kadyrov’s greatest treasure. After leaving home at eighteen to escape his verbally abusive father, beautiful, selfish Ilia has lived with Mikhail, proud of his ability to bring such a powerful man to his knees to worship. But when Ilia’s father, a police captain, kills Mikhail in a raid, Ilia’s world falls apart.
Entering to pick up the pieces is Mikhail’s younger brother, Nick—impulsive, power-hungry, and dangerous. When Nick tells Ilia he’s taking everything that belonged to Mikhail—including Ilia—Ilia is too lost in grief to fight. Nick takes Ilia prisoner in the apartment Ilia once shared with Mikhail and grooms him for a very important mission: to kill Ilia’s father and avenge Mikhail’s death.
Ilia wants no part in the plot, but being Nick’s ally is preferable to being Nick’s victim, so he begins to warp himself into the monster Nick wants him to be. Hope arrives when Nick takes another captive: Patrick, a shy massage therapist who’s stronger than he seems. Patrick and Ilia must join forces to escape Nick—and to keep each other whole as Nick does everything in his power to break them.
Another Man’s Treasure is available at Amazon, Smashwords, Createspace, and Barnes & Noble.
In other exciting news, my FREE Love’s Landscapes story is out today!
Love’s Landscapes is the event run by the MM Romance Group on Goodreads. For all of June, free stories will be released, based on the prompts provided by group members. This event is always a blast, and you’re bound to find a story that suits what you’re looking for. You do need to be a member of the group to access the story on Goodreads, but a few days after they’re posted there, all the stories are available for download at the MM Romance website.
My story is called The Dreams You Made in the Dirt. It’s full of hurt-comfort, a little bit of a mystery, a lot of angst, some violence, and a sweet first time! All of my favourite things, basically. I hope you guys enjoy it. 🙂
I read it thought it was absolutely fantastic! One of the best I’ve read this year. I did shout at the end but only because I was surprised. And can I say I love that cover. Beautiful! Congrats on the book!
Thanks, Jennifer! I’m glad you liked it, ending and all 🙂
JA designed the cover. She’s clever like that!
Wow! Great cover! I have got to get my hot little hands on this book…*sigh* Sounds so dang good.
Thanks for the blog post!
