SERIES: Love’s Landscapes
AUTHOR : Charley Descoteaux
LENGTH: 7,957
PHOTO DESCRIPTION:
Extreme close-up of a handsome young man with beautiful blue eyes and a sexy bit of scruff. He’s exhaling a drag from a cigarette, the smoke curls around his face, framing his jaw and pouty mouth. His expression leaves no doubt he’s looking at something― or someone― he’d like to get close to.
BLURB:
Dear Author,
Please use this excerpt as a prompt:
O’ God it’s wonderful
to get out of bed
and drink too much coffee
and smoke too many cigarettes
and love you so much
― from Steps by Frank O’Hara
Any setting or time period. A slice-of-life story would suit me fine. No BSDM, violence, mpreg, or shifters, please.
Thank you,
Jenna
REVIEW:
This was a really nice, intimate and quiet look at two men that fell in love in a coffee shop. Theo is recovering from an accident that has left him disabled and unsure of himself. He feels safe and welcomed at Ben’s coffee shop, The Broken Cup. There’s a bit of misunderstanding between the two of them, which had hindered them partening together sooner, but I love that everything came to life in a simple alley stealing a quiet moment together.
I just wish we had gotten a bit more bonding time with them or at little bit more of who they were as men. We are kind of thrown into their story at the very end, and I would have loved to see them enjoying each other’s company in an extra scene or two.
