Known as Cody Starr to his fans, Christian is one of the most popular and desirable young actors in gay adult films. His sweet looks, sensual skills and charisma on camera have earned him fame. Now he wants out of the adult industry, but his fear of what could—or couldn’t—be waiting for him keep holding him back.
Finn is an Army veteran who knows what it takes to protect people. When he meets Christian, something tells him the pretty young man needs protecting in more ways than physically.
Tension between Christian and Finn can only hold back their attraction to each other for so long before passion takes hold of them. For all the heat and emotion between Christian and Finn, the challenges of Christian’s fame may tear them apart.
Review:
When I started this story I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. It seemed a little choppy at the beginning but it smoothed out as I delved deeper into it.
Christian is a porn star who’s beginnings are probably familiar to many in the industry. He started with nothing and has built a lucrative career for himself but he’s getting to the point that he needs something more.
Finn is an ex-military man who’s no nonsense attitude and honesty appeals to Christian’s need to escape from the fake life of Cody Starr.
Both men know that dating someone who lives Christian’s kind of life has all kinds of hazards and obstacles to overcome and I enjoyed watching them figure it all out.
The side characters in this story were predictable as was the plot. I would have liked to have seen more build up and anticipation before getting to the HEA you have no doubt is coming. Watching Christian struggle a little more with his choices would have made the story more captivating and I’m not sure I believe that someone with Finn’s background would give in as easily to his own wants and emotions.
However, it’s a nice story and while there were really no surprises, it’s one of those lazy afternoon reads that will leave you smiling at the end. I would read something by this author again because I think they have definite potential.
