Sometimes two just isn’t enough.
Noah Steele is a broken man. Though born a strong, confident Alpha, the torture and betrayal he experienced by order of his own father have left him a shell of the man he once was. Still gripped by the fear left in the wake of his trauma, he no longer trusts his instincts or his ability to lead. Shamed, he hides himself away, even from the mate he longs to claim as his own.
Dax Marshall needs some downtime. Between protecting the Pack in his role as Beta and leading teams to search for more of Alpha Steele’s facilities, his responsibilities are starting to overwhelm him. If only he could find the one person destined to soothe both himself and his wolf.
Between dominant wolves, power struggles are always an issue. Time and patience will be needed to make their mating work. Unfortunately, time is in short supply. New information has Dax, Noah and a team following a lead to a breeding facility—and much more. Among the prisoners, they find an abused young man who calls to them both in a way that neither of them understands.
While they scramble to adjust to fate’s curveball, more information comes to light showing just how far Alpha Steele is willing to go in his quest to rule the Packs. Will their new happiness withstand the madman’s plans or be destroyed by the malevolence of his ambition?
Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of ménage, scenes of sexual abuse and mentions of forced reproduction and rape.
REVIEW:
I read the first book and couldn’t wait to read the next book in the series. I’m so glad that I did.
We met Noah Steele in the first book, Accepting The Alpha. Noah is Eli’s eldest brother and the heir to Alpha Steele’s pack. Noah was abducted and brutally beaten. Kellan, Eli’s mate and other members of the Great Lakes Pack helped to rescue Eli and Noah. Since then, Noah has been unable to stand to be touched. He’s also going through some serious depression and feelings of inadequacy. Noah is trying to work through what happened to him when he scents his mate. Noah has hidden away so that his mate will never know that he exists and be able to move on with his life. Noah is struggling to get back to the person who he was in the sense of being an Alpha again. Noah is this great guy who has always wanted to find his mate, have kiddos and lead his pack into the future.
Dax Marshall is one of the Beta for the Great Lakes Pack and he’s this really honorable, loyal guy. He’s got lots of heart and he’s so very loyal. Dax knows that there is something about Noah that just calls to him. He finds out that Noah is his mate and that changes everything. He finally knows what if means to have someone in his life that means the very world to him. Dax was content with his life, but that was before he met Noah. Now his life seems to be getting better and better. Dax feels part of something so very special and so very loved, that he’s in absolute Heaven. Nothing can change the way he feels, until they go on a mission and they meet, Landon Parker.
Landon Parker is an Omega. Not much is known about Omega’s as they are dying out and they are more myth and legend. Landon is being brutally beaten and kept in solitary confinement at this medical facility. Landon has had such a hard life. His family killed when he was a baby. Being in a pack that didn’t fully understand him. Being made fun of and treated as “other”. But Landon is so strong. He’s so very brave. I admire the way he’s just kept going on with his life. Even when he meets Noah and Dax, he’s confused and falling in love with them, yet he’s still this wonderfully strong character.
The secondary characters in this book were great as usual. Jai, Holy Hannah. Jai is this wonderful character who is seen as fun-loving and full of good cheer. He’s also thought of as promiscuous, when he’s not. He’s hurt from when he talked to his mate, yet he’s still got the good cheer front that he puts up. Kellan and Eli are back. It was good to see that they were doing well. I loved how Eli has so much control over his mate. Kellan would do anything to keep his mate happy. It was sweet to see that they were like any normal couple, still finding their way. Ruby is a fun, strong female character. She’s this amazing blend of feistiness and love and compassion. She takes care of those in her pack and wants to keep them safe. I really liked her. I loved that she stood up to the guys and showed that she didn’t, wouldn’t back down. I love a great female character.
This book flowed so smoothly. It was seamless from the first book. You didn’t have to read the first book to follow along with this book. This second part starts a few months later and you felt as if you didn’t miss a beat of what was happening. There was wonderful sexy times, yet it was nice to see that these guys didn’t push the sex. That they let things take place on a more organic pace. I really liked that about them. Even with the bonding thing going on, they didn’t rush into sex with Landon. They allowed him to truly come to him. Not the other way around.
I have to say that once I had read the first book, I couldn’t wait for the second one. I’ve wanted to see what was going to happen next, and I’m glad that I did. I can’t wait for the next book, hopefully it will be Jai’s book as he’s in a bit of a pickle at the moment.
So, if you want a really great book to read that deals in shifters, bondings and menages, this is the perfect book for you. This lovely story had me hooked from the moment I started until the moment I finished. I didn’t want it to end and now, I’m waiting impatiently for the next book in the series.

Great review! When I saw that it would be about a threesome I hesitated because I don’t care for them. Apparently, this book won’t focus on the acrobatics and since I loved the first book, this one’s now on my list.
