Book Name: It’s Simple, Simon
Author Name: Lee Brazil
Author Bio:
I’m an avid reader and former teacher of grammar and composition who believes that falling in love is the grandest adventure anyone can have. In a nutshell, that’s every story I have to tell.
Relocating from the crazy pace of life in Southern California’s Orange
County to the beautiful and leisurely atmosphere of the Illinois countryside has given me the time to indulge the desire to write that I
set aside when I started teaching fourteen years ago

Blurb: Simon Carter has achieved unimaginable success and he owes it all to a man from his past whose scorn set fire to his ambition.
“It’s Simple, Simon. You lack ambition.”
“
Chase Garvin’s jibe had sent Simon Carter on unexpected paths and brought him unimaginable success. No longer a penniless musician, the highly paid investment banker is going home for the first time in years. He plans to rest, relax, and spend a little time rubbing his ex-lover’s nose in his success. A visit to the Renaissance Fair brings this not-quite-so-simple- Simon nose to nose with his past and somehow revenge doesn’t seem quite so attractive.

Interview:
5 questions to Lee Brazil.
Thank you Lee for answering these questions ! 🙂
Do you buy a book because of the cover, the blurb, or some other reason?
To answer your question as cogently as possible, yes, yes, and yes. *blinks* I have been lured by a pretty cover, I can’t deny it. Take for example, Amy Lane’s Knitting series. Those covers are full of charm, and irresistible. But most covers are kind of similar to each other. There are trends that we all seem to follow- nude torsos, then clothed figures, then shades of red, then blue…Those, I have to read the blurb. Blurbs are probably the most important hook for me. You can’t trust a cover after all, to tell you whether a story is paranormal or angsty. A good blurb will suck me into any universe. And as for other reasons, well, some authors are just auto-buys for me, and I tend to buy all the Regency era m/m I can find, because it’s a particular weakness of mine. And rock stars…I love rock star stories. And geeks…and…
( Dani: Go on go on 🙂 )
– What’s the hardest part of writing your books?
Okay. I’m going to tell you this, but you have to promise not to laugh. I have a minor issue with short term memory. That means that a lot of things, things like character’s eye color, or hair length, are a source of great frustration. So one of the hardest parts of writing is keeping everyone’s appearance in mind. I am constantly looking up physical details in my notes. It’s frustrating. Oh, and reusing names. I do that. You’d think there were only fifty or so names in the world.
( Dani: I wouldn’t dare to laugh 😉 )
What bores you in a book?
Oh, um…that’s a tough question. I guess I’d have to say endless pages of story that do not involve the main characters. I like both characters to be represented, in each chapter, even if one of them is only in the other’s head. Also, I find sex scenes that are extraordinarily long tedious. Especially the ones where there’s a lot of conversation and internal thought going on. To my way of thinking, if you’re having sex and you have time and ability to form coherent thoughts? Someone is doing something wrong.
(Dani : Haha Love that thought on things 🙂 )
-(Could you )List three books you have recently read and would recommend?
Only three? Lol Just kidding. Sure I can. I highly recommend Amy Lane’s Blackbird Knitting in a Bunny’s Lair, Training Season by Leta Blake and Brand New Flavor by EM Lynley.
( Dani: He I thought three was a nice number, next time I will ask you 10 🙂 )
Can you share something about your works in progress?
Currently I am working on re-releasing my m/m regency Less Than All, which was published by the now defunct Silver Publishing. It is being re-edited, will get a shiny new cover, and be released in conjunction with a French edition. Also, I am working on the third of five volumes in my Pulp Friction 2014 series, In From the Cold. Book three is called Cold Feet, and it’s a pivotal moment in the relationship between Cannon Malloy and Finn Lorensson, but it’s also the moment of escalation for the rest of the story as well. In the first two books, the “train” was chugging its way to the top of the hill. In this one? It’s right there at the pinnacle, poised with nowhere to go but down. And that’s about all I can tell you about it so far. *zips lips*
( Dani: That is a lovely teaser there 🙂 , Glad you are re releasing Less than All too 🙂 )
