BLURB:
Brian and Dylan have been best friends for years. They have no secrets between them, except for the ones they’re keeping from each other.
When Dylan lets himself into Brian’s apartment to drop something off, it couldn’t be worse timing—for Brian. He’s tied himself up to play out a kidnapping fantasy. He’s mortified, but Dylan is intrigued. He even offers to help Brian out next time he has an urge to be tied up.
No. That’s all Brian can think. No way. But the idea of someone else being in control overwhelms his thoughts—and self-bondage is suddenly a pale substitute for the real thing. He gives Dylan permission, on a trial basis, and comes face to face with a side of Dylan he’s never seen before. A really hot side.
As their games pick up steam, so does their relationship, along with Brian’s courage to go after the things he wants. Like, Dylan.
It might be happily ever after, but there’s one secret left, and it could ruin everything.
REVIEW:
This story was completely different for me as it wasn’t a traditional romance novel. It’s has romance in it, kinda, but it’s really about this fetish that Brian has going on.
Brian is one half of this band called Attack From Space. He’s this really good guy. He’s nice and kind and a really sweet guy. He however has this fetish. He likes to be tied up. Brian’s kink is abduction and torture fantasy. It’s really quite inventive the lengths that he’s gone to a) hide his fetish and b) to ways that he’s fulfilled his desire. Brian is straight, yet even knowing that his fantasies have always had men who were doing the abducting and torturing. He’s never really thought anything of this, but now he’s in for the scenes of his life.
Dylan is the other half of Attack From Space. Dylan is this cute guy who when not on the road touring is working in his father’s construction company. He’s this good guy who is always keeping busy and living his life. Dylan is this really wonderful guy who is the kind of guy that you’d love to be friends with. He’s private, but for those who mean something to him, you are loved and cherished. He’s got a couple of secrets that he’s hiding from Everyone, but overall, he’s a pretty honest guy. Dylan being the nice guy that he is decides to drop off a check at Brian’s apartment and his life is about to change.
I will say that this story wasn’t really a romance story. It was more about finding someone whose kink is similar to yours. Brian found that in his step-cousin, Dylan. They met when they were teenagers. Dylan’s a couple years older than Brian and yet, they became best friends and band mates. I love that they already have a prior relationship and this is just adding on to it.
This story actually flowed rather smoothly. You were never jarred out of the story. From the very first page to the very last page, I was invested. I wanted to see how this would evolve. I couldn’t wait to see if their relationship would go from friends to lovers.
This book was interesting in the fact that there was barely any sex in the story. What sex there was happened later in their evolving relationship. There wasn’t sex for plot points. It was an evolution of what they were doing and how they moved forward. It was very tastefully done and that made it even sexier and hotter.
