BLURB:
Powerful yet tormented warlock Quinn Fairmont must initiate the silver-eyed Cade Mairston into the world of witchfinders, Withinners, and what can happen when two men fall truly, madly, deeply in love.
THE WORLD IN SHADOW
In modern London,, there lurks a warlock. Quinn Fairmont. Dangerous, powerful, tortured. Sharing his body with the soul of an ancient Welsh sorcerer, Quinn is never alone—and never wholly himself. He fights against all those who would exploit his kind. He also takes pleasure where he can find it.
In the forest of Hampstead Heath, Quinn’s hometown, Cade Mairston appears like a waking dream. Lithe, lean and silver-eyed, he evokes feelings in Quinn unlike any other: along with lust comes true affection, immediate and shocking. Cade is clearly more than he seems. And yet, though a man of the world, Cade knows nothing of warlocks, witchfinders or Withinners. He knows nothing of what he is, what he might be, what he might feel. For him, the story is just beginning, and magyck, peril and passion await.
REVIEW:
Phew! I think that went well. Not what I was expecting but an enjoyable read nonetheless. And I like the concept of this book. Interesting and unique. Not some kind of book you always encounter. Though I had my fair share of saying wft, it was quite an enjoyable read for me.
The book was set in the modern day London. Quinn Fairmont is Warlock, powerful and dangerous and he shares his body with an ancient sorcerer which in turn Quinn can feel what the sorcerer feels. His name is Taliesin. When Quinn first met Cade Mairston, it was unbearable lust at first sight (cliché, I know. It worked for me anyway) but soon turn into something more.
It’s not all hearts and flower, be warned. There are enemies to battle and incidents that could potentially ruin the relationship to deal with.
I really can say I enjoyed the book. It has the main characters that are both engaging and the chemistry is really there. At the beginning I’m not really sure if I can finish the book. Though I don’t really DNF, I try real hard to finish a book. But as the story in this book unfolded, it really became interesting, got my attention and I started not to put this down.
This book is the right mixed for me. There are sweet moments not (so cheesy my gum hurts) at the same time some action battling the enemies. Plus the sex is hot, I might add.
Though there are scenes that I’m not comfortable with particularly with what happened between Cade and Taliesin. Call it unbearably inevitable lust but I’m not buying it. Will power should be more powerful. Call me a prude. Ha ha.
Anyways, overall a nice enjoyable read for me. A bit long but I enjoyed it nonetheless. If you want something new, you should read this.
