Well, hello. What a hot little twisty historical romp.

 

What happens when you bring four horny people (two women, two men) together in a mishmash of creative coupling?

 

Lots of naughtiness, that’s what. And these beautiful, open-minded kinksters have the money and connections to protect them from society’s censure. The author attempts some other plot building with a hint of political maneuverings (it’s set in Europe during the Napoleon era), but this is essentially all about erotic frolicking. The twist in this fantasy historical is that the women hold just as much sexual power as the men.

 

All is fair in sex and power-play.

 

Young Anna, fresh from the convent, wants something more from life than stultifying married subservience.

 

“A lifetime of preparing to be subjected to men made it difficult… when he said I want you, she heard I want to own you…”

 

Anna is in love with Pia, her convent-mate and BFF, and wants a life with her, too. We get a lot of secretive F/F convent action, explicit but standard. What is different is that Anna is a domme in the making; she grabs onto it two-fisted and practices on the very eager Pia.

 

Through a series of fortunate events the women meet up with two very accommodating hunks, Sebastian and Farleigh, who also happen to have a hankering for each other. It’s a set-up for no-holds-barred sexual tension, plotting and hook ups with some BDSM spice. Anna can wield a whip with the best of them.

 

I really enjoyed this. But I have to take some points off because the lure of M/M sex was strung out for so long my Kindle (Sweetiepie) was in danger of some serious hurling across the room. And then, when we finally get it, there are too many boobs in the picture. Don’t get me wrong, these four are hot together, but, as with the two women, I wanted the men to have their own sexytimes, too.

 

This is a well done alphabet soup of F/F, M/F and M/F/M/F action with some M/M/F/F, and finally, a bit of M/M thrown in for good measure. If you’re a die-hard M/M reader this may not be your cuppa soup. I still found it lots of good salacious fun.
