Brody O’Shea isn’t looking for much, just a hot guy with a decent job, who is sane and doesn’t have kids. The son of a former rock star, Brody has lived through the pain of bankruptcy and bad parenting, and he doesn’t want to experience it again. As a reformed horndog, he wants the security and stability of a relationship. But almost every guy he meets seems satisfied with Mr. Right Now, and he wants to find Mr. Right—now!
The only men Eric Vasquez chases are criminals. As a deputy and single father, he has no need for a relationship after his last one ended disastrously. He lives for and through Maddie, his nine-year-old daughter. Everything else is a needless distraction, but distraction is what Eric gets when he comes to Provincetown to attend the wedding between his cousin Van and the man of his dreams.
When Brody and Eric meet, what they want and what they find conflict. An ocean of expectations separates them. If they cannot move past their reservations to reach each other’s shores, they might miss the boat when love comes to town
REVIEW:
One of the books I really was looking forward to. I was so happy to be visiting Provincetown again:)
Author Jacob Flores got me hooked on this series from the first book and I have been enthusiastic reading this series ever since.
Knowing this was going to be the last one made me sad but it also made me curious to what the author would come up with to finish up this series.
He sure didn’t disappoint! In this 4th book we meet up with Brody after having been introduced to him in the third part. Brody is a man with a story and you could even dislike him at the start especially after the former book. But something in Brody makes you want to reach out to him, or at least I did, because you can sense there is so much more to him. After having experienced all kind of loose sex, one night stands, etc Brody wants more. The only problem is that his quest is turning out to be hopeless, taking Brody’s confidence in a happily-ever-after with it.
Hence the introduction of Eric, who is visiting Provincetown with his daughter Maddie for his Uncle Van’s wedding to Zack.
Eric is a single father and has his own story to tell (I won’t go into details as I would consider that a spoiler).
For Brody there is immediate attraction but because of Eric’s story, he needs to get it under control for his own sake. But what is there coming from Eric and why is he sensing something more?
Brody, not being that fond of kids because of his own upbringing, is surprised to fall for Maddie in an instant and the feelings seem to be returned 🙂
When Eric and Brody finally decide to have it out, it sets off a whole lot of new emotions, feelings and experiences.
They bond in a way that seems like it was supposed to be, now to make it work, right….
Author Jacob Flores has a nice surprise for us readers installed with the epilogue to this story. The way he sums up all books…all characters is astonishing and wonderfully done and pushes the rating of this book for me (that was a solid 4 stars) to a 4.25 star just because I want to emphasise the beauty of the ending all together, as well as my enjoyment over this series.
