Today is the 3rd April. By the time you read this the event I want to talk about will have happened over a week ago, but I don’t care because I want to celebrate still. There are people, unfortunately too many people in the UK, who think this day should never have arrived.
The 29th of March was pretty epic in the UK for the LGB community and allies. You’ll notice I’ve left off the T. Unlike Scotland, whose law comes in effect later in the year, England and Wales have a long way to go to allow transgender people full equality in marriage.
With effect from midnight 29th March 2014 the same sex marriage act came into effect. There were celebrations and marriage over the country.
Ben & Jerry’s got in on the act.
I’m going to quote from T.J. Master’s post on http://ukgayromance.co.uk/
Changing any law in the UK is a complex process, not taken lightly, nor should it be. This new Act corrects many inequalities, but in order to work effectively it had to include a whole raft of minor corrections to existing marriage law. These include allowing night time marriages for the first time. It also repeals the existing sodomy laws and now ensures that if a member of the royal family were to wed his same sex partner, that person would never be forced to take the title of Queen. I’m sure that one caused a few laughs among the legal draughtsmen.
I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to see the joy on each couple’ faces. Does it makes all the campaigning worthwhile? Hell yes it does.

Dumped by his boyfriend, Frankie Mason goes out with the girls, gets totally trashed, and ends his night by falling in front of a taxi. He’s rescued by a man with beautiful green eyes who takes care of him until he’s put into an ambulance. Frankie curses himself as he realizes he doesn’t have the man’s phone number. Still in pain a few days later, he is dragged out to a club only to be saved by Green Eyes once more. This time, he isn’t letting the man go.
Unfortunately Frankie has to attend a team-building exercise, nicknamed Womb Weekend, organized by his company. Al is working so he doesn’t mind, until he discovers who the team leader is. Al has a lot of explaining to do!
