REVIEW:
I am alway looking forward to seeing a new release of author Sue Brown, the way she is able to make you as a reader feel connected with her main characters.
In a way there is always a sympathetic factor there or a resemblance to yourself or a wanting to be, well you get the picture I suppose 🙂
In this story we meet Frankie. He’s clumsy and been dumped and pushes all the right buttons as a reader. You cannot help liking him, feeling for him, his flamboyance, openly gay attitude.
Compared to that we have Al, a bit of a dominant man, used to caring instead of being cared for. He’s trying to be there for his mum in the final steps of her life, while making a living as a project manager in team-building assignment weekends.
Frankie meets Al when Al is Mr. Green Eyes, the man who saves him not once, but twice. He doesn’t know anything else about the man who helps him.
What a surprise it is when Frankie attends the team-building weekend while he is still in pain and finds out who the team leader is. The chemistry that was there in the earlier meetings is still there full force.
After the explanations are out of the way, there is time to move forward and without spoiling too much they sure do ;)I always look forward to a new story from author Sue Brown. I like her easy way of writing and th
Frankie meets some nice people during the weekend that need to be mentioned! Carol and Ray are fantastic. Carol is spicy, forward, protective and a “way to go Girl” and Ray, after he almost blows up his whole presence there, turns out to be a genuine supportive guy.
What I missed in this story was a kind of deepness; it need to get down to a more intense level and needed a bit more exploration of characters or situations.
In the end author Sue Brown definitely brings out the drama and creates a very sweet epilogue that makes you satisfied and comfortable.
This in general is an easy comfortable read, a nice story that you won’t regret picking up.
