Writers often talk about their characters developing a life of their own and demanding their own story, but it’s rare I can believe it as much as with your Lord Cameron 🙂
Thanks for the teaser, I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one in your Blue Notes series!

Thank you Birgit! Cam was definitely a challenge to write, but I’m pleased with his redemption! I hope you enjoy Dissonance.

Cameron – Yay!! Will we get this book before or after Henry? Any tentative publication dates? You’re definitely right about characters because that’s what I look forward to the most but hadn’t realized it until I read this. However, it takes skilled writing to develop that character in the first place and he’d be kind of lost out there without a great story.

Cam’s story will tentatively be released in August. Andrea. Henri is the next one Blue Notes schedule, assuming he and Guy cooperate! 😉

I wondered if we’d get Cam’s story although I didn’t much like him at first. But often the characters I don’t like in the beginning are the characters I end up loving the most! Thank you for the post and the excerpt.

Thanks, Allison. I think part of the pleasure of writing a series like Blue Notes is getting to know a character as he develops. For me, I knew Cam had some serious baggage that made him the way he is. By the end of the story, I hope you’ll love him as much as I do. 🙂

I tried not to like Cameron, but I also saw that he was to a great degree, a product of his environment; I always believed that Cameron loved Aiden, but he didn’t know how to love because he didn’t love himself. I’m happy that he is getting his own story because everyone deserves redemption. With what Cameron did at the end of the story, he already has it in my eyes.

Needless to say, I’m looking forward to reading ‘Dissonance.’ Thanks, Shira!

I agree Lena! He really did love Aiden. But you’re right – it’s difficult to love someone when you hate yourself. There’s far more to Cam than met the eye in “Aria.” I’m a firm believer in redemption and growth. We may all be products of our past and our environment, but we can change and grow with love and support.

Love the excerpt–love, too, this post! You’re right on target here. I think one of the reasons we as fans forgive so much of our television shows is because we fall for the characters and we’d do anything to get more of them. 🙂 Look at Sherlock Holmes! The character is so compelling that we, like Watson, hang on every word of the stories, even though many of them are flawed in construction. I believe I read somewhere that Sherlock Holmes has been reimaged and re-created more than any other fictional character in history.

I’m so pleased we get more of Cam’s story! One of the best parts of series is watching the characters grow over time. 🙂

Thanks for the insights. I’ve been looking forward to reading your Stealing the Wind, and this insight might be the push I need to go back to it.
