Will Duncan be able to save them both? Or will he have to make the ultimate sacrifice?
REVIEW:
Dragon’s Eye is a short read, that caught my attention from the beginning and continued to keep my interest piqued right till the end!
The book introduces to us the world wherein there are powerful dragons and sorcerers co-existing in the human world. A sorcerer with the possession of a dragon’s eye owns that dragon and such a sorcerer is considered to have distinct powers! For a decade, Duncan is owned by an evil one and when that sorcerer dies, he sees the ray of hope where his freedom lies. All he has to do is get his dragon’s eye back and he’d be free!
However, his hopes are crashed when he finds it stolen and Duncan has no idea who has it this time. The son of dead sorcerer – Trent – wishes to help him find it but would it be wise on Duncan’s part to let him? It doesn’t help the case that he has had hots for Trent for a long time now…
The world building in this novella was quite impressive. In a few pages, Stephani Hecht manages to give an outline of the secret world Duncan and Trent are a part of. Obviously, it is only touched upon and does not go into much depth, but I was personally satisfied with it.
I have been a huge fan of dragon fiction ever since Harry Potter, so whenever a book about Dragons comes out, I feel obliged to check it out! This one definitely took my admiration considering it also had my favorite M/M Romance element in it 😉
I loved Duncan – the hot dragon shifter who is very brave and wears his heart on his sleeve. And I also loved Trent for his amazing magical abilities. By the end, their individual powers combined saves the day and it also proves to Duncan’s dragon brothers that dragons and sorcerers working together can make one helluva, kick ass team! Both the boys do have something special going on between them, but something lacks in their chemistry that I can’t seem to put a finger on. Their romance takes a lower key over the battle that goes on to get Duncan’s dragon eye back. Maybe, if it had a dedicated aftermath focussing only on their budding love, this could have worked wonders!
This book proves to be a great start of an exciting series because when I was done with it, I couldn’t hold back on reading the second one!

BOOK #2
TITLE: Dragon’s Heart
LENGTH: 58 Pages
BLURB: Sometimes you have to face your horrible past or else you will never have a bright, happy future.
Lester has always been only half good enough—half a sorcerer, half a dragon, but all a bastard, he was shunned and unwanted as a child. So, the first thing he does when he can is move away to the human world, and he never looks back. But the supernatural world is coming to him. The war between the Dragons and the sorcerers is at its climax and both sides want Lester on their side.
Dragon shifter Mick grew up watching his best friend Lester being abused and shunned. Now that he’s back, Mick is more determined than ever to protect him. As the two find themselves falling in love, will they be able to overcome all their obstacles, or will war win over love?
REVIEW:
Fanning myself for the umpteenth time now! Oh God! Stephani Hecht gives us a blasting chemistry of two hot main characters in Dragon’s Heart!
Lester is a hybrid – a bastard who has been born to a dragon father and an evil sorcerer of a mother. He has been paying for the sins of his father, being treated badly and like an outcast. So when he grows up and moves out, he breathes the air of freedom. But now when dragons and sorcerers are creating forces to fight a battle, everyone has an eye on poor Lester to get him on their side.
Why?
Because apparently a combination of a powerful dragon and an equally powerful sorcerer has to be an asset to make a winning side! Mick, along with some fellow dragon mates, arrive to protect Lester in the human world and bring him back. Mick is the one person who cares for Lester deeply – he is someone whom Lester considers more than a friend and is the only one he could find himself trusting after everything that had happened in the past. So he decides to stay and help the dragons locate their missing population who have been captivated by the evil sorcerers. The only problem is – he doesn’t really know what he is capable of! The story revolves around Lester’s self discovery of the powers he possesses and that element is essentially captivating.
I found myself enjoying this book more than Dragon’s Eye because of two things – one, both Mick and Lester really make for interesting characters and secondly, their chemistry is sizzling! To be honest, before I read this book, I didn’t give Duncan and Trent’s Romance a second thought, but when I read this book, I kept comparing them to Mick and Lester and obviously the latter had more considerable points for a real couple. It doesn’t go without saying that I was glad to get glimpses of Duncan and Trent’s life together in the dragon world but I wasn’t too keen on knowing it anyway. Says a lot, I guess.
Stephani Hecht deserves a round of applause for maintaining the excitement toward this supernatural world and she makes it enjoyable by giving us engaging war scenes, amazing magic and spells and of course, the Harpies! I think the war with Harpies was my most favorite part. As described, they are technically females, though there’s nothing feminine about them. They are described as the evil creatures with hideous looks. The dragons and Trent, alongwith Lester have to fight them in order to get a task done.
What’s more amazing is when by the end Lester discovers his true form of a purple dragon! I can never forget the great war ending scene in this book!
Seriously, I can hardly wait for the next installment to come out! The book doesn’t really end with a cliffhanger but there are things to be sorted out still. I may be wrong but it seemed that the next story might be about Brian and the dragon they plan to rescue! I am so damn curious, I could die… aargh!
Dragon’s Heart brings in a mix of a fantasy world alongwith some hot Romance.
