BLURB: What happens when you get everything you’ve worked for, only to discover it’s not what you really want?
Dan O’Leary worked night and day to finish law school, join a top firm and make partner, all before the age of 35. He’s found a man who swept him off his feet. And his best friend of twenty years has his back.
Then, one awful day it all comes crashing down around his ears.
Making a fresh start, Dan meets the people of Blue Ridge, Georgia, including Chief of Police Nick Oliver, and, perhaps, finds a new home. But danger from his old life follows him and puts not only his life, but that of his new friends, at risk
REVIEW:
Oh man. This is so addictively good. I can sense my impending addiction to the series. I’m still kicking myself for waiting this long to read this one followed by the big question why? Why?!
Dan O’ Leary thought he had it all in life, it may not be a perfect one but it is a contended life. His dream job, a lover and friends. What more does a man wants? But lately there’s something nagging at him, he felt there’s somethingmissing. We all feel that. We can say we have a contended life but sometimes we feel that there’s some void in our life that’s need to be filled.
And that was what felt that something was off in his life combined with the cluster-fuck that started in the law firm he is partnered, up to the condo where he lives with Abe, his lover. In the spontaneity of the moment he made the biggest decision in his life the next day. It maybe drastic but sometimes that’s just what we all need, a little push to do something that will work for us in the end.
This book is really a good read. I can’t put this down! This made my heart pound, grit my teeth over the sub-characters, made me laugh, and made me sigh and just love this book, Dan and Nick. Fair warning though, there’s a cheating issue in this (on Abe’s side). And that what made this an emotional ride for me. Though not really heavy and this is not really a tear-jerker, the emotional side of this book is enough to make my chest grew tight. Mostly between Nick and Dane and cheating issue on Abe.
I guess that’s the thing about Mr. T. A. Webb’s books. It would evoke emotions from you that would really make you connect to the characters and just love them. And I love Dan! I admire his courage to face his problem to finally put it behind him. It were me, I would just cut and run. I would never asked questions. What I saw is enough and I would just let the time heal everything. Lucky Dan is not me.
I can’t really deny the chemistry between the main characters. Just thinking about the first time they met just makes me laugh. As clichéd as it may seem, it was hate at first sight. But they say, the more you hate, the more you love right? God, you will just love the two of them.
The writing is really good. Funny and never boring. Just the right length to make really enjoy the book. Though I wouldn’t complain one bit if this is long.
This is highly recommended. If it’s been sitting in your e-reader device, give this a chance and you might love this one. After reading this I now can’t stop listening to the song, “Bless The Broken road.” It’s perfect!
“Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars. Pointing me on my way into your loving arms.”
