REVIEW:
This story had potential but the main problem is that it’s very hard to tell it in such a short length. We don’t get to know enough about any of the characters to care about them and it kind of feels like we join this story in the middle.
It’s 1975 and Marcus is convinced that he just wants meaningless, mindless sex and moves to New York to find it. Soon after he gets there, he meet’s Griff and his plans run off the rails. He finds himself in a relationship with no idea how he got there and he can’t quite figure out how to get out of it.
Griff is smart and smooth and seems to have fallen in love at first sight with Marcus. He’s always one step ahead of Marcus and uses sex to effectively cut off any discussion about spending time apart.
So, Marcus keeps trying to break up with Griff and somehow fails and they just keep going along. When an opportunity for that gratuitous sex Marcus was looking for pops up out of his past, he intends to go for it. He ignores Griff and spends the night with a past fling, but somehow manages to not have sex at all.
There’s nothing surprising and maybe if there would have been a little more time to get to know the characters, I could have loved them a little.
As it is, it’s just a cute story that will make you smile and that’s about it.
