What Made Me Think Of That

Inspiration comes in many forms and for methat can crop up at any moment from many different sources. I’m always surprised at what can do it. Sometimes it’s just a title like in the case of But For You which came as the result of listening to the Sting song Sister Moon. The lyric:

I would gaze at your face the whole night through
I’d go out of my mind, but for you
I’d go out of my mind, but for you

A Matter of Time was inspired by an ad back in 2007 that Mathias Lauridsen was in for Gucci II…

I loved his expression and wanted to figure out what was going on with him. It took two books to do it. After The Sunset was written after I saw a picture by Dan Skinner called Our Path.

I could see Rand and Stef so clearly and suddenly knew that a sequel was needed. I was thrilled that I got to have it for my cover.

Acrobat was inspired by a picture painted by Steve Walker called Parallel Dreams —

… and my newest book, Floodgates, was inspired by this gorgeous man ===>

He is the secondary character, Cord Nolan, and then I had to think who the main character was. And that ended up being Tracy Brandt.  This is the gorgeous cover that Reese Dante made me for my March release.

That’s Tracy on the cover contemplating his circumstances. I love that inspiration can hit any of us at any time and hope that different things, pictures, songs, movies and talks with friends keep inspiring me.
