TITLE: Under The Table And Into His Heart
SERIES: A Valentine Rainbow
AUTHOR: RaineO’Tierney
PUBLISHER: Dreamspinner Press
LENGTH: 47 pages
BLURB: At the Under the Table host club, Valentine’s Day means one thing: cash. Neglected housewives, newly ex-girlfriends, and lovelorn thirtysomethings pay for the attention of handsome men. Shy bartender Jem has always wanted to be a host, and when the club’s owner, Miss Rye, accepts a contract from a MensLove Convention, Jem volunteers to flirt and make out with another host for the ladies’ entertainment. Bailey, an older man who’s had his eye on Jem, convinces Miss Rye to let him be Jem’s partner, and everyone gets more than they expected—especially Jem and Bailey.
REVIEW:
Under the Table is a club where women can go to be flirted with, verbally seduced (no sexy touching allowed) and made to feel good about themselves, all for a fee of course. A fee that naturally is significantly higher come Valentine’s Day. Supply and demand, as the club’s proprietor, Miss Rye would gladly point out. Because on this day, “the most glorious of manufactured holidays”, every lonely woman who walks through the doors will be “spendin’ more tonight than she’d ever dream of normally spendin’, all under the flag of red, white, and pink.”
But Miss Rye isn’t one to just sit back and wait for the money to flow in. She’s always on the hunt for ways to make more money, and this year an opportunity too good to pass up presents itself.“I’m going to need two of you to kiss.”
A MensLove Convention has come to town and a group of women are heading to the club, ready to pay to see two of the hosts kiss and flirt with each other. “Would there be tongue?”
Jem is the clubs very talented bartender and he’s eagerly been waiting for the chance to become a host. If it takes making out with another man to get his foot in the door, then that’s what he’s going to do.
Bailey is older, and one of the clubs most popular hosts. He’s never been with a man before but there’s something about Jem that he can’t ignore.
This book was a lot of fun. I especially loved the scene that Jem and Bailey put on for the raucous women even though they broke a ton of Miss Rye’s rules. Their make out scene was pretty hot, even though this story leans more towards sweet than sexy.
There was no big rush at the end to get the story finished, which I find is often a problem with short stories. Instead it was well paced and not weighed down with a heap of unnecessary backstory and physical descriptions of every character introduced. They’re my biggest issues with stories of this length.
While I’d love to hear more about the club and the men working there, I guess it wouldn’t be realistic if they all turned out to be gay. Still, maybe one or two more wouldn’t hurt…

Sounds like something I would really like. 🙂
Sounds like a fun host club themed read. Sweet is just as god as sexy in my opinion. I’m looking forward to giving this a read.
