SERIES: Wild R Farm # 4
AUTHOR: Silvia Violet
PUBLISHER: Silvia Violet Books
LENGTH: 220 pages
BLURB:
Will has a temper as wild as the bear he holds inside. Normally he’s an easy-going, caring guy, but if someone crosses him, he uses his claws and shifter strength to set them straight. His temper ruined his chance at the career he wanted, but now he’s working at Wild R Farm, enjoying the camaraderie and longing for more with one special man.
No one at the farm knows much about Ryan. He’s done time in prison and he carries scars that tell of something horrible in his past. When he gifts Will with one of his rare smiles, Will decides to do whatever it takes to get him to smile more often. Will is used to being a protector, and even when he learns Ryan’s dark secrets, he refuses to turn away. What he doesn’t realize is that he needs Ryan’s quiet strength as much as Ryan needs someone to show they care. Ryan’s past threatens to send him running, but Will and the rest of the crew of Wild R prove that no matter the danger, they take care of their own
REVIEW:
Will’s story…sigh…
And look at that cover…
Being a fan of this series I was very excited to get to reading this fifth book. I was happy to see a full story again, as much as I love Tristan and Wes, and I was happy to see this new story focused on these “new” main characters.
What can I say about Will? I mean who wouldn’t love a man/bear like Will?
Then there’s Ryan who’s the total opposite – shy, abused, insecure – but the spark is so there.
So the question is can they find enough common ground to at least try to make it work?
One of the things I think I personally like most in this series is the familiarity; the loving feeling you get from reading about all these men. Not only the main characters in this story but all the familiar names that you come around too, because you have met them in former stories. It’s one of the reasons that for me, a new book in this series will always be a must read. (and I would definitely recommend reading it for that matter)
I tend to feel a lot of respect and genuine appreciation for the fact that there are authors out there who dare to stick to a series and the characters in them instead of choosing the “safety” of a standalone edition.
The family aspect of the characters used in this particular story pushes the story up. I mean what is not to love about the fierce protectiveness of Cole, the nurturing of Jonah, the friendly bantering of Tristan and the way all of the guys treat Ryan as part of their family, not letting him leave and sticking by him.
Will isn’t going to let Ryan go when he finally finds the opening he’s been waiting for.
Ryan on the other hand doesn’t want anyone at the farm hurt or involved for that matter because of him and his past.
But when things come to shove Ryan finds out what it means to have “family”and friends and a man to love by your side. He finds out what the farm and its inhabitants stand for exactly.
With help from Will especially, he finds out that maybe there is a way to finally leave his past behind him.
With the help of the man who helped Ryan all these years ago when he was confined to prison, someone found and contacted by Wes, they are able to track down his nemesis – his worst nightmare. It smooths the path to a happily-ever-after he never thought he would be able to have.
A very nice extra surprise, I may add, is that near the end of this story, author Silvia Violet leaves us with the desperate need of wanting her to work on the next part of this series really fast. I mean what’s cooking between “new” employee Brandon and newly instated veterinarian Zach?
Please do tell us Miss Violet…
