BLURB: A Men of Myth Story
Brett Wright and Finn de Morisco come from vastly different worlds. Disowned by his family for being gay, Brett builds both a life on his own terms and walls around his heart. But nothing can prepare him for the evil that stalks him in the night or from discovering the dark secrets of his heritage.
The youngest of a doting family, Finn lives a sheltered life that allows him to trust easily and makes him quick to jump to the rescue. While using his knowledge of the supernatural world to help Brett uncover the truth of his ancestry, Finn learns neither his magical life nor falling in love is as simple and risk-free as he believed.
New knowledge comes with a price—one that may prove too high for them to pay.
REVIEW:
This is the first book in the Men of Myth series and boy does it grab you!! We meet Brett Wright in the beginning of the story. He’s at his Grandfather’s funeral, but the sad part is that he’s in hiding. His Grandfather has disowned him for being gay. He’s sad and still hurt that the people who raised him have turned their backs on him. He’s made a life for himself, though. He’s been living with his best friend, Sonia and he’s got a job as a lifeguard. Brett’s always felt at home in the water and that’s how he still finds his joy and calm.
We also meet Finn de Morisco who is Brett’s love. Finn is a 25 year old Warlock who works at his mother’s bakery. He meets Brett as a blind hook up from his brother-in-law. He saves Brett in the aftermath of an attack. He takes Brett to his parent’s home to help with his care. Finn is quite taken with Brett.
Finn and Brett embark on a journey to find his attacker. However, what they don’t know is that his attacker is also looking for Brett. His attacker starts at the home he shares with Sonia and cuts a swath to find him.
I have to say that I really like the secondary characters. Finn’s parents and his siblings who show that even when they don’t agree, they will stand up for each other. Just as any family should behave. Sonia had become Brett’s family and they made it work. There is such love and caring between the two of them.
Brandon Witt did a great job with having you feel what his characters felt. I was along for this in turns beautiful and yet, horrifying ordeal. There were so many emotions that were thrown about that at times I had to put this book down and walk away from it. I needed to find my own balance before I could plunge back into their world.
The story itself flowed pretty well. I liked the different POV for several chapters. It gave such insight into the characters that I felt exactly what they felt. There was just a bit of the smexy in this book, however, what sex there
I will say that I am looking forward to the next book in this series. The ending was just so heart wrenching that I have to see what happens next. I have to see how the boys deal with what’s happened thus far and what Brandon will do to them next.

Thank you for the review.
If I’m reading your review correctly, this ends in a cliffhanger? Not an HEA? So I would have to keep buying into the series?
Thank you,
