REVIEWED BY DANIELLE
SERIES: Personal #2
AUTHOR: K.C Wells
PUBLISHER: Island Tales Press
LENGTH: 164 Pages
BLURB: The sequel to Making it Personal…
Rick Wentworth has had enough of one night stands and quickies in clubs. It takes a night of uncharacteristic hedonism to make Rick admit what he really wants – someone to love him. But for that to happen, he needs to make some changes. Rick can do that. After all, what’s the alternative? And when he meets a guy who ticks all his boxes, he can’t believe his luck. His boss Blake Davis, and Blake’s fiancé Will Parkinson, however, aren’t convinced. They want to know more about Mr. Perfect, and their instincts are keener than Rick’s. Both men want to protect him. As it turns out, they needn’t have worried. Rick has a guardian angel…
When Angelo Tarallo sees Rick for the first time, it’s a match made in Heaven, as far as he’s concerned. And when he rescues Rick from danger, it gives him the opportunity to get to know the man who has captivated him. Before long, it’s plain to both men that this could lead somewhere. But when Angelo’s traditional Sicilian family finally discover what he’s been hiding from them for so long, an ultimatum spells heartache for the lovers – and worse.
*Contains a MMM scene
REVIEW:
Rick’s story? “Yeah!” That was my first reaction after falling in love with Will and Blake in the first part of this series and I was so curious for the next part.
And boy oh boy was it a worthy next part for sure!
Make sure you read this somewhere where you cannot be disturbed and you have air-conditioning on or something because this book is Hot with a capital H.
When we meet Rick in the start of this book, we find him swinging through life. He’s going from one man to another or better yet, from one fuck to another, not getting attached and he proudly proclaims that his longest relationship lasted a whole 3 months.
Yet deep down he wants what his boss Blake and his fiance, Rick’s friend Will, have.
A man to come home to, to love, someone to be together with forever.
After Rick ends up in a extremely hot threesome after hooking up in one of his regular clubs, he looks into the mirror and realizes he doesn’t like what he sees, marking this as a turning point for him.
(The warning for the private place and A/C is in full speed for this threesome btw)
When he meets Julian he thinks this could be it. The man is attentive and nice and doesn’t push Rick. It feels like he can make this work.
Little signs are starting to tip Rick off though, showing a very possessive Julian and also on a double date with Blake and Will it doesn’t seem to work out properly.
Then it all comes trashing down hard. You will have to find out how and why by reading the book. It’s sufficient to say this is the moment where Angelo steps into the picture.
Beautiful kind and sweet caring Angelo. What’s not to love you could say, and that is exactly what happens to Rick.
They take a slow pace but there is definitely something there and it is lovely to read the built up in their relationship.
I would like to mention that I seriously can never think of Skype in a normal way again, when Rick and Angelo take the meaning of Skyping to another fabulous level.
When Angelo’s secret from his family gets blown, all things literally go to hell.
Author K.c Wells’ heartbreaking description of the things that follow leaves you gutted and helpless yourself as a reader. I found myself begging to please let it end and make things right.
How things go, what exactly happens and how it works out that is again for the reader to find out reading this story.
I do have to say that the end makes you want that private place and A/C again, and leaves you completely satisfied as a reader.
So thank you Miss K.c Wells for this sequel and also for including Blake and Will as a significant part of this story supporting and caring for Rick.
This story has everything you as a reader want – happiness, sexiness, angst, love, friendship and self- exploration to name a few things.
ABOUT K.C. WELLS
Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C.Wells always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way.
K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, where the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings – writing about men in love was even hotter…
K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career.
The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.
K.C. can be reached via email (k.c.wells@btinternet.com), on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/KCWellsWorld) or through comments at the K.C.Wells website (www.kcwellsworld.com ) K.C. loves to hear from readers.
