REVIEW:
First let me start of with saying this is perhaps one of my favorite series ever. The characters are so well formed, so familiar, so human, and so natural. It is so easy to love them, to get into their heads and to relate to them and to me that makes this a special series.
This 5th book in the series, a special christmas edition, needs to be read when you have read the other books. It will not make any sense if you don’t know the characters from the earlier books.
They all make an appearance one way or another in this christmas edition, and we as the reader go through this story looking into the lives of the characters who formed this series.
We follow Jack and Riley in their life with their newborn twins, Riley’s 12 year old, Haley and their little boy Max.
At the same time we get to connect with Eli and Robbie and the wonderful life they’ve made together.
And also a new romance is formed in this new part. Liam finds love in Marcus, who we’ve also known from previous parts.
Liam needs to work through some heavy things that have happened to him in his young life as he is only 20. Thankfully Marcus doesn’t want to hear no and sticks around waiting patiently.
Miss Scott did an amazing job in building the story of Liam and Marcus, pushing it gently and carefully andthat really suits the story perfectly considering Liam’s past.
Together with the updates on the complete family and the little snippets of parents, brothers and sisters, it makes this part is a fantastic lovable all consuming read.
The minute I started reading, I felt drawn in, not wanting to do anything more than finish reading it and feeling so sad when I reached the end. I felt a bit worried that perhaps this is the final one? Or is there more to come? What about a spin off with Darren or example ? 🙂
I also want to take a moment to applaud the author for continuing this series, as it is not a standalone part but one where you need to have read the whole series. It often it seems a gamble to take that risk and unfortunately (in my opinion) it makes authors shy away and choose to do a part in a series that is more stand alone rather than continuing to work with the characters of the former parts of the series.
So a big compliment *taps head* to miss Scott for going that way and making this a very complete series. Thank you !
