Sid Love: Welcome to the blog of Sid Love, Ms. Via.
With Blue Moon, you have made your debut as an author. Obviously, this books has to be special to you. But exactly how special is it to you is what I want to know.
A.E. Via: Yes, Blue Moon is definitely an extremely special and important book to me…probably always will be as I continue to write. A lot of authors have or had several books they’d already written and just had to decide which one they wanted to send for submission first. That was not the case with me. I thought about the story for a while and let it evolve in my mind before I finally began to write it. Blue Moon will always be the book that got me in the door of this fascinating genre. Even the characters are extremely special.
SL: In briefest way possible, can you share the making of “Blue Moon”?
AE: I’ve always been an avid romance reader. I started out with m/f and then a little m/f/m, until eventually I wanted less female and a lot more male. I began to imagine strong, capable, alpha men (hence firefighter, Special Forces, D.E.A. Agents) loving each other and needing each other. The story just came together I thought of the characters and their jobs.
SL: The story is told in three parts – why did you choose this style as opposed to blending them more or writing separate stories for each couple?
AE: Actually, Blue Moon just developed like that. The publisher’s editor decided to break them into Parts 1,2,3. Because of their relationships, I considered them to be blended together. I’ve never been a fan of long series. I’ve made some exceptions; because some authors have really did a fantastic job. But I don’t like to read the same thing over and over again…some series does that. I always only wanted Blue Moon to be a two-part installment, so Hawk, Pierce, Fox, and Shot will be the next and final chapter.
SL: This book only touches lightly on some aspects of BDSM. Do you have any further stories planned that delve a little further in the lifestyle?
AE: I kept it pretty vanilla in Blue Moon, because it’s really not a topic I’m overly knowledgeable about. I’ve read quite a bit of BDSM from some phenomenal authors, but it’s not a category I really put my writing under. I will probably use some domination in many of my books, but that will be the extent of it.
SL: Will we be seeing more of Angel’s dad and the sexy detective?
AE: Yes, of course. Their stories will be included in there with Hawk’s. I’m going to keep the format very similar, but I’ll blend the stories better.
SL: We know so little about you, Ms. Via. So I am gonna take this opportunity to let my readers know you closely. Tell us about the first story you ever wrote.
AE: *Laughing* Blue Moon is the very first story I’ve ever written or even considered writing.
SL: Did you ever think that one day you were going to be a published author?
AE: Heck no. I’m a business owner, and I stay pretty busy. I never thought I’d write or even better, write something decent enough that others would want to read it.
My family is always ribbing me about what I’m going to do next. No one knew I was writing a book, except my husband. So one day at Sunday dinner, I told everyone that I wrote a book that’s been contracted by a publisher and the release date is this coming up Friday. *smiling*
SL: So is writing a hobby or a profession for you?
AE: Right now writing is my very passionate hobby. I would love nothing more than to wake every morning and take my laptop to Barnes and Noble café, or the library and just write for nine to ten straight hours…it’s my dream. However, I’m a business owner. I run my own paralegal company, and I stay very busy. If I write enough books that I can eventually sell my business and be an author full time, I would be more than happy!
SL: What is it that you like to do the most apart from writing?
AE: *smiling* Read. If I’m not working, or writing, then I’m reading.
SL: What comes next from A. E. Via? Is there something you are currently working on?
AE: My next novel to be released is a gay male ménage erotic contemporary romance entitled ‘You Can See Me.’ I am in the final round of edits and it will hopefully be to readers soon. I’ll be doing some advanced copy giveaways in the next couple of weeks!
Work in Progress:
The book I’m writing right now (it’s untitled) is coming through me every day. It’s about two detectives that are pretty bad ass together. One is openly gay and the other doesn’t label himself, but while he’s always been attracted to women he begins to see his partner differently after he saves his life. It’s stirring around in the special world in my mind. Each day I just sit down and start typing away and I won’t stop until it’s complete.
BLUE MOON
BLURB: Angel DeLucca is one of the most sought after gay bachelors in Virginia Beach, but when he tries to find true love, no one takes him seriously. After a one-night stand goes wrong, he comes into contact with hunky, straight, firefighter Maximus (Max) Strong, and Angel’s mission in life is now clear.
Max’s older, protective, brother, Ryker secretly craves the attention and praise of a Master. Angel’s Security Chief, Master Dom, Sebastian ‘Bass’ Bagetteli, shatters that secret with their first intense encounter.
These men’s stories will unravel in a whirlwind of romance, bondage, revelations, action scenes, and very hot sex.

ABOUT A. E. VIA
A.E. Via graduated in May of 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Virginia Wesleyan College.
She’s a new author to the beautiful gay erotic genre. Her writing embodies everything from spicy to scandalous. Her stories often include intriguing edges and twists that take readers to new, thought-provoking depths.
When she’s not clicking away at her laptop, A.E. runs a very successful paralegal-for-hire business and in her spare time, she devotes herself to her family – a husband and four children – her two pets, a Maltese dog and her white Siamese cat, ELynn, named after the late great gay romance author ELynn Harris.
While Blue Moon is her first novel, she has plenty more to come…so sit back and grab a cool drink, because the male on male action is just heating up!
