SERIES: Five Boroughs Book #6
AUTHOR: Santino Hassell
PUBLISHER: Riptide Publishing
LENGTH: 370 pages
RELEASE DATE: November 13, 2017
A record-breaking heat wave engulfs the Five Boroughs, and emotions run as hot as the temperatures.
In Rerouted, Chris Mendez is trying to live a drama-free life. That doesn’t include another threesome with Jace and Aiden Fairbairn. But then a citywide blackout leaves them trapped together, and Chris is forced to re-examine everything he thought he knew about relationships and his own heart.
In Gridlocked, former Marine Tonya Maldonado is keeping real estate heiress Meredith Stone on permanent ignore. Mere isn’t Tonya’s type. Not even close. Who cares if she kisses like a dream and has the filthiest mouth this side of the East River? But then a security detail at a summer party ends with her saving Mere’s life and discovering they have more chemistry than she’d ever imagined.
In Derailed, Stephanie Quinones escapes the heat and her complicated love life by going on a company retreat. Trouble is, it’s a couples’ retreat, and she lied about having a boyfriend. Unfortunately, the only person willing to play pretend is her on-again/off-again fling, Angel León. They’re currently “off again,” but after a week in the woods, Stephanie realizes she wouldn’t mind them being permanently on.
Citywide is part of the Five Boroughs series and an amazing collection of three novellas featuring secondary characters from the previous books as well as presenting some scenes with all our favorite guys. Chris, Tonya, Meredith, Stephanie and Angel get their stories here and although these novellas can be read on their own, I would say it’s best to read the previous books first to fully understand the different background of the characters and the dynamics between each couple. For Five Boroughs fans I just say, you guys are in for the most fabulous treat ever with these stories. I absolutely love this universe the writer has created and Raymond is still my all time favorite character, so I was extremely happy to see him being his awesome self from time to time in all three episodes.
Santino Hassell brings his signature writing style, which is powerful, unique and overall amazing. He also takes diversity to a whole new level as this book contains MMM with a gay menage, an FF story with one genderqueer ex Marine and it is all completed with an MF story starring Stephanie and Angel.
The first one, Rerouted, tells us how Chris, Raymond’s best friend finds his happily ever after with Jase and Aiden. If you have read Third Rail you already got glimpses of this threesome. If not, we get enough details here to see and feel the connection between these three amazing guys. However, I suggest you start with their short story collection just because Santino Hassell is amazing and the more you can read by him, the better. I love the way their dynamic is playing out and their chemistry is over the top sizzling hot. The sexy-times are a whole new level of fantastic spiced up with true emotions. I loved every minute of it.
The second story features Tonya, our badass genderqueer ex Marine and Meredith, a spoiled rich beauty. We met them in previous stories and getting to know them better was a fun, entertaining experience. We didn’t see a lot of Tonya so far but I fell in love with them here so much. This was my first ever FF story and let me tell you, Santino can write anything and everything in any way I would eat it up in a heartbeat and still ask for more… second and third helping. We get a great plot-line, and some sizzling chemistry spiced up with some seriously steamy sexy-time. Tonya and Meredith got their rightful place in my heart for good.
Derailed was my least favorite of the three. I just couldn’t get into Stephanie’s mindset so she annoyed the heck out of me. Angel saved the story for me cos I love him to pieces. I also like the premise of the story and was still happy to see them get together after years of secretly loving each other.
This book is a wonderful addition to one of my favorite series and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Highly recommended.
