STORY REVIEW:

I reviewed this in ebook form when I was a reviewer for Prism Book Alliance. After listening to the audio format, I remembered all the reasons I love this one the first time.

Here is my original review:

“If I could give this one 10 stars I would. This story was fabulous from the amazing cover to the about the author bio. This world was so grand and perfectly in tuned with the many versions of Wonderland. It was beautiful, it was gruesome, it was up, it was down, it was forwards, it was backwards, it repeated itself, but most of all it took itself so seriously in the most unserious manner. Dakota Chase has a winner on her hands with this creative universe.

On top of the fantabulous setting, the supporting characters were crazy and fun. The main characters were likable and a grew as the story moved forward. There were great messages of self worth but these messages were built into the story and were not preachy at all. And the romance was perfect in the fact that there was very little romance at all. It was just enough to feel the connection growing between Hatter and Henry but not so much that it was an adult story. It was all about the connection and nothing about gratuitous sexual education.

I am in love with this story and hope to whatever god you and I both pray to that this becomes an audiobook! I would also LOVE to see this as a graphic novel illustrated by the cover artist himself. Could you imagine the wonder that is wonderland brought to life as storyboard images?”

Well it seems I got one of my wishes and the audiobook was even more enjoyable than the ebook! Pick this one up ASAP!

NARRATION REVIEW:

I LOVED this book when I read the ebook and longed for the audiobook. However, I was also soooo afraid that the audiobook would not do the book justice. When I saw this one released I hesitated to listen. Joel Froomkin is very hit or miss for me. I was soooo scared this one would be a miss, especially with the way I had built this one up in my head.

I am happy to say this one was not a miss. I thought Joel did a fabulous job with this narration. I do wish a younger voice would have been chosen and his narration would have been a bit more unique but even mirroring so many of his other narrations, it was very good. The world was brought to life and the emotions were dead on. I loved this story all over again and even a bit more.

I would still LOVE to see this one illustrated in graphic format. It would be the perfect way to enhance this one once more.
