Reluctant first-time cop is forced to embrace his darkest desires…
During the day, I do everything expected of me. I have a smart flat, new car and a string of girlfriends calling. They tell me I’m the perfect gent. I’m a strong policeman who upholds the law, using force where necessary. Even handcuffs. But at night, I dream about those cuffs around my own wrists.
I don’t want to, but I dream about men.
When I visit the confession box, the priest says I’m a serious case and have to learn my lesson. But his rules are so hard!
All I can do is submit to his regime. Using my body like this is so wrong.
But so good!
Well when I read the blurb I had a feeling this was a book all about sex which is fine with me. Sometimes a bit of smut is just what you need. Unfortunately the fetishes and kinks played up in this short story weren’t to my taste. If there are those of you out there who enjoy reading about these fetishes, then it’s the book for you.
While I am into BDSM and things of that nature, humiliation is not for me. Dubious consent involving a priest does not make me a happy camper. Calling someone a whore or a slut during sex does not appeal to me either. The sex itself, or the fantasy in general, I guess was alright but leave the priest out.
The story was peppered with editing issues, but the thing that most distracted me from the writing was the “Irish accent”. I’m not going to say that no Irishman might talk that way, but I’ve certainly never met one who does. At times it seemed more Yoda than Irish.
For a story of this length you would forgive a lack of depth to any of the characters but at the same time I found the character of Cory, the policeman, to be completely impossible to swallow (no pun intended). A manwhore of a cop who cries over his dirty fantasies and doesn’t realise that the priest is up to no good. It’s hard to find something sexy when it’s so ridiculous.
Anyway, this was a short book so it won’t take long to get through. And if you are into basically a book of quick smut, this is definitely for you.
