REVIEW:
Finnegan’s Promise is a great story of true love, family, and forgiveness. Fin and Mick form a wonderful couple and I really enjoyed their journey to happiness.
This book was first published ten years ago and some elements make it noticeable, like the cigarette ban from the pub or the lack of smart phones. I love these new rereleases. Some books I have missed but get a new chance to find as they provide a kind of quality that proves to be timeless.
The writing is flawless, the plotline well structured, and all the emotions are wonderfully built giving enough tension, heartache and those necessary warm and fuzzy feels that make this book a true feelgood story. It is a real page turner and I couldn’t stop reading.
One of the selling points for me beside professional football player and the bartender/pub setting is how playful the MCs are with each other. Their chemistry is over the top sizzling hot and their sexual tension is palpable, but what makes them truly special is that fun, playful undertone. We get a great feel of the layers of their emotions. They have a special connection that is not only physical but some serious and real feelings are woven into the mix. We got to see how they connect on a deeper level and it made this story perfect in my book. They also deal with some heartbreaking family issues that are written with heart and compassion and made me tear up a couple of times. The wonders of fiction allow us to live moments unimaginable in real life that give some cathartic moments and your tears to fall freely. The sex scenes are various, sensual and well written, and add the extra spice to make this book memorable.
If you are looking for a feelgood love story with two hot guys who dare to feel and show their emotions, this is a great choice for you. Highly recommended.
