“Cole struggled to free himself as the fire engulfed the bed around him. He then heard muffled voices and the sound of the front door of the apartment being broken down. ‘Derek, no! It’s a trap!’ Cole yelled as loudly as he could. ‘He has a gun! It’s a trap!’ The flames in the room spread to the carpeting and up the wall as Cole continued to scream. ‘It’s a trap! It’s a trap!’ Filling the room with black smoke, the flames raged over Cole as the sounds of two gunshots in the other room echoed in his ears.” -BOYSTOWN Season Six
The mission to rescue Cole O’Brien from the captivity of a deranged fan takes a tragic turn as several people are rushed to the hospital. At the same time, emergency crews make a desperate attempt to save Gino Ciancio and Justin Mancini who are trapped in their car at the bottom of Lake Michigan. And Dustin Mitchell’s return to Chicago places him at the center of a brutal battle that leaves a dear friend fighting for his life.

There’s no place like BOYSTOWN!
REVIEW:
This is the 7th installment to this series and it was absolutely fabulous. The events were exciting from the first page to the last; so much so that I was left breathless after just reading the first chapter. As always, I have to break down this review by couples, so let’s get to it. But first…
*cues soap opera music*
“On the next episode of the Young and Messy aka Boystown…”
Okay, the folks in Boystown have been busy! People are set on fire, getting shot/shot at, stabbed, run off roads, yelled at, cursed out, you name it!
Emmett/Patrick/Max: That situation has gotten way out of hand, no thanks to Emmett leading both men on. “I’m just trying to protect my heart” is the he reason he gave in the last book as to why he was sleeping with both men. Exactly how sleeping with and leading on both men helped him to do that but that decision is what lead to the tragedy involving Jesse.
Jesse/Logan: The Max/Emmett drama spilled over into their relationship and tore them apart. Unfortunately, Jesse may pay the ultimate price because of it.
Michael/Keith: These are one of the few characters that I actually like. I’ve always rooted for these two men. Michael is my favorite character and I hate that he’s trapped in this ridiculous web of this group.
Dustin/Max: I don’t know what in the heck is going on with that situation. That’s another potential mess waiting to happen.
Joyelle/Matteo/Jack: *sigh* Joy gets on my last good nerve. She falls in and out of love way too quickly! She’s in love with one man until the next one comes along. I mean, really, now! Talking about marriage and children when 1) your infant daughter is STILL MISSING and 2) you practically just met the man asking you! Get a grip, girl! One hundred percent of my concentration would be on my missing child and not romantic entanglements. Sheesh!
*okay, I’m low key hoping that she ends up with and rooting for Jack.*
Cardinal Armani: He’s going to hell with gasoline underpants on! He’s as low down and trifling as the rest of them and he’s a supposed ‘man of the cloth’!
Ethan: How is he going to hold the key to something that will help out a friend but keep it to himself? He needs to be tossed into the sea with the rest of them.
Marco/Camille: Two psychopaths in a pod…
Aiden Carmichael: Who in the heck are you and where did you come from? Welcome to jungle of madness…
As always there are numerous plot twists, turns, in and outs with absolutely no degrees of separation of these characters. I still think that everyone in this little so-called group of ‘friends’ all need to separate and put no less than 5,000 miles between each other. They are *not Michael* completely nuts!
Is there a moment where these folks can just have an uneventful or boring day? Like, just once I’d like to see them all having a boring old meal like pot roast or potatoes or some such boring meal. But no. It’s not this author’s style at all. His mission is to snatch you up and out and keep you on the edge of your seats. I was mentally and physically exhausted and needed a dang nap after reading that book; they are *except Michael* doing THE MOST.
This book is chock full of messy drama and it’s deliciously GLORIOUS!
