SERIES: The Community #2
AUTHOR: Santino Hassell
PUBLISHER: Riptide Publishing
LENGTH: 242 Pages
RELEASE DATE: June 26th, 2017
Spoiler Alert! The following blurb contains spoilers for Insight, book one of The Community.
Holden Payne has it all . . . or so he thinks. As heir to the founder of the Community—an organization that finds, protects, and manages psychics—he’s rich, powerful, and treated like royalty. But after a series of disappearances and murders rock the Community, he’s branded the fall guy for the scandal and saddled with a babysitter.
Sixtus Rossi is a broad-shouldered, tattooed lumbersexual with a man-bun and a steely gaze. He’s also an Invulnerable—supposedly impervious to both psychic abilities and Holden’s charms. It’s a claim Holden takes as a challenge. Especially if sleeping with Six may help him learn whether the Community had more to do with the disappearances than they claimed.
As Holden uncovers the truth, he also finds himself getting in deep with the man sent to watch him. His plan to seduce Six for information leads to a connection so intense that some of Six’s shields come crashing down. And with that comes a frightening realization: Holden has to either stand by the Community that has given him everything, or abandon his old life to protect the people he loves.
Enemies to Lovers! Santino Hassell! The Community Series! Six and Holden, OMG!!! YES!! All of it…so YES, YES, YES!!
This was so friggin good. Santino Hassell has created a riveting, nail biting, page turner with this series and I’m a huge fan. This is one of those stories that centers around someone you really aren’t suppose to like but really can’t help it. I love so many things about these books but what I’m enjoying the most are the characters. These are flawed, imperfect, messed up people who are so incredibly endearing and mesmerizing I honestly can’t get enough.
In Oversight Holden, the spoiled rich son of The Community leader is all mixed up in this book. Gone is the cold, self assured empath from book 1 and in his place is a vulnerable, uncertain man who is having his eyes opened to truths he never thought possible. To top things off his father saddles him with what he feels like is a keeper in bodyguard, Sixtus Rossi.
The attraction Holden feels for Sixtus is immediate but Six’s lack of emotion throws Holden even more off his game. Holden flails and Holden…never flails. It was so good to see this side of Holden.
Sixtus can’t stop is attraction to Holden. The emotions he’s felt he’s had for a long time so now he has the opportunity to actually get something he’s wanted for so very long.
The craziness surrounding The Community only intensifies in this book. A lot of truths are revealed which throws Holden’s world into turmoil. He clings to Sixtus even more when he realizes all the lies he was led to believe.
I knew we’d be seeing Nate and Trent again and I’m happy to say Santino Hassell didn’t disappoint with how he wove them and other characters into this story.
This book is a uber twisty, turny ride of HOLY HELL, WHAT NEXT…?!!?!?
This was a fantastic addition…not a standalone….so you’ve been warned.
