Ever since Gabriel Foster started working at Demerchant Industries, he’d been fighting his attraction to his enigmatic boss, Sébastien Demerchant.
During a Christmas party at Sébastien’s mansion, Gabriel discovers his feelings might be returned. But everything is not as it appears, and Gabriel’s world will be turned upside down in the process.
This is the first book by these authors I have read and it’s a great little book. I liked that there is some suspense and that things aren’t as they seem with these characters.
Gabriel is half in love with his boss, Sébastien, and thinks Sébastien might feel the same but isn’t very sure. Gabriel is at his boss’s Christmas party and is uncomfortable around all the people so he decides to explore his boss’s house. As he is exploring, he comes across a portrait that he can’t take his eyes off of. Sébastien finds him engrossed in this portrait and that is where things really take off. Now I can’t tell you more about this portrait or the plot as I will give the story away. You need to read this yourself to find out more.
The love shared between these characters is heart warming. Gabriel wants to be with Sébastien and feels a connection down to his soul. Little does he know that Sébastien feels the same way. In fact, Sébastien has been wooing Gabriel gently for a year trying not to push him to hard or fast. I love that about Sébastien. I love that he is thinking with his heart and soul. And when Gabriel finally gets a clue, the love they share is beautiful. Everything from the soft words to the delicate touches to how they make love. I think out of the story that is what I love the most, the love, because it goes soul deep.
This is a good story. I really enjoyed it. It can be read as a stand alone but after reading the blurb for book one, book one helps a little to give more background. I recommend this for anyone who wants an HEA.
