On the first day, Jordan finds himself attracted to Miles Colter, a handsome local stable owner who is giving horseback tours of film locations.
Jordan is surprised and charmed that Miles pursues him. When Jordan learns the stable is in trouble, he wants to help despite Miles’s resistance. As their relationship grows personally and professionally, Jordan dreads the issues that face them—an ex who won’t let him go, the complications of a long-distance relationship, and a secret he knows he shouldn’t be keeping.
Can Jordan and Miles find a way to forge a love as timeless as the romance in their favorite film?

REVIEW:
I thought this story was adorable and it left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. I have to admit I have never seen Somewhere in Time, but to be honest, I don’t feel I needed to in order to enjoy the premise of this story. The author wove in enough movie details that I could understand what was important and why without spending too much time simply rehashing the plot. It was interspersed throughout the plot as necessary and worked very well.
I would also like to admit that this story hit me in a soft spot because growing up, I too had a move that inspired me to want a grand romance. I saw said movie when it premiered and happened to be given a souvenir necklace at the showing. I kept that necklace almost as a talisman hoping that it would bring me my one true love that would last the ages. It didn’t but I still remember that movie fondly and this book brought back those old desires of a romance of the ages! I would like to think this was the author’s intent and he nailed it exceptionally well.
Somewhere on Mackinac had me on the edge of my set, but not from the plot or suspense or thrilling nature of things. Instead, I was captivated by the romantic nature and the desire to know if this would end up as in the movie, or if Jordan would finally get the romance of his dreams. I was swept up in Jordan’s giddiness to be on the island and his yearning for something just out of reach. And when he met Miles, that instant rush and attraction was on point and really lept off the page. The romance will feel extremely fast to some folks, but for me, it worked because it played into the whimsy and almost timeless romantic element.
I have to give the author props for keeping this from becoming OTT and sugary sweet. This story had real world elements that brought things back into focus. This was not a perfect love, in fact, it almost didn’t make it. But the author worked in some elements of growth and learning that made this instant love not so hard to handle. These men knew their love was fast and knew they needed to slow down and form something lasting.
I finished this story feeling warm and fuzzy and all around comfortable. I will gladly revisit this one again and hope to see it in audio soon!
