How did Trick’s character originally come around and was he always destined to be with Chase?
A couple of things happened simultaneously. First, I had read a few biker books that left me unsatisfied and having been a biker’s wife for several years, the idea of writing my own became more insistent. Then, we were at the Americade, a motorcycle event in Lake George, and I found myself weaving little stories about the people we encountered. When we came back, I opened a blank document and decided if the premise came easy, I would write the story. If not, I’d scrape it. Thirty minutes later, I not only had the whole synopsis written, I’d surprised myself by tying it to the Sizzling Miami series. That initial synopsis always had Ty and Chase together from the get-go, so yes, definitely destined.
When you first started writing the Sizzling Miami series did you have the Devils Pride Mc series planned as well or did it just develop as the characters grew?
When I wrote Past Hurts, the first book in Sizzling Miami, I didn’t even have a series planned until I wrote the last few chapters and met Bull. Up until that point, I thought I was writing a stand-alone book. Devils Pride wasn’t even on the radar when I started The Protector, even though I tied them together.
I love when an author has a couple of series going at the same time and they cross over – does it work well for an author or does it complicate things too much?
Yes, to both. I love having a more romantic series – which is how I see Sizzling Miami – and a more angst/action series like Devils Pride. Moving the characters between them gives them a chance to stretch themselves in both directions. Ty is not sweet, but he can be for the right people. Bull and Red aren’t really built for romantic suspense, but they’d do anything for their friends. So, there’s freedom there and it’s crazy keeping it all organized – especially since I don’t plot in advance. I have a lot of spreadsheets to make it all work.
Is there more to come from Trick, Chase and the men of the Devils Pride Mc and if so can you drop any hints?
Plenty! Taking the Top (Carlos and Mateo’s story) and Forever More (Snake and Greg’s sequel) are both finished and getting a second pass from me before they go to the editor. Then I’ve got 4 more books planned in that series including Bernardo’s story which will become more important after Forever More.
Finally – What else can we expect from Jessie G this year and more importantly when can we expect it?
This year will include Taking the Top and Forever More (Devils Pride), Treading Water (Forgotten Soldier), Our Reason and Saving Saul (Sizzling Miami), a super-secret anthology with two kick ass MM authors, Unmasking Nic (a standalone), and The Moments That Define Us which lives in the Sizzling Miami world but will be a standalone MF featuring Craig and Bella. I’m also hoping to finish Controlled Burn (Sizzling Miami) this year.
TITLE: Tys That Bind

AUTHOR: Jessie G
PUBLISHER: Self Published
LENGTH:
RELEASE DATE: March 31, 2017
BLURB:
Unprepared, ill-equipped, and with no example to look back on, Ty and Chase embarked on a journey to build a family for Ava and Luc that would far exceed anything they dreamed of for themselves. Two years later, they’ve succeeded beyond their wildest expectations, but there’s still a couple of things missing…and they’re ready to make them happen.
Bad boy biker Trick wouldn’t hesitate to fight for those he loves, but Ty knows it will take more than violence to win this war. Willfully submissive Chase has the utmost faith in his Master, but when he sees Ty struggling with demons from his past, it will be his quiet, unbending support that will see them through. Jumping through the loopholes of family court, they are only one event shy of making it all official and neither are willing to wait another second to check it off the list.
Clearing the path for adoption should reassure them, but it will take their cast of well-meaning friends and the occasional slap upside the head before they realize that the ties that bind them together are forged in a love that can never be taken away.
REVIEWED by Caroline
This was short and surprisingly sweet given that the characters from this series have each had a pretty dark story to tell previously. When we first met Ty, or Trick as he most certainly was back then, even before the Devils Pride Mc series he was a tough man who took no prisoners and had no idea how to love. A shy but feisty submissive man called Chase would be the catalyst to a complete do over and he would become the very reason Ty lived for another day. Tys That Bind feels more like book 2.5 in the series rather than book 3. There is no new story here but more a continuation and finally some closure for a couple that have become a firm favourite of mine. And with that closure comes validation of who they are, what they mean to each other and where they are going in the future.
I loved seeing the vulnerable side of Ty that really only Chase ever gets to see. They are both working so hard to put in place all the blocks that mean they will finally be a family of four but no matter how sure Ty is that they are unbreakable there is just enough room in his self-deprecating brain for a sliver of doubt. The story is intimate and personal and it’s not until these men start looking back just a bit that you realise how far they have come. Ty and Chase needed this last small piece of their story to be told and it was great catching a glimpse of some of the other men of the series. This is definitely a light read for this series and will leave you feeling giddy and with a smile on your face.

Like many readers, the dream of being a writer has been with me a long time. After three decades of trying, I’d begun to doubt. Thanks to social media, I followed my favorite authors hoping to glean some words of wisdom as I pounded out half-formed ideas with alarming regularity. Two repetitive themes emerged: to be a great writer you must read a lot and your butt must be in the chair every day like it’s a job. The more you write, the easier it will be to write and the better you will be at writing. I took that advice to heart and write every day. With three series in the works and a full schedule of releases planned for the next two years, it’s been amazing to have made this dream my reality.
I am a firm believer in marriage equality, love at first sight, power dynamics, and happily ever after. I’m a lover of strong secondary characters, and series filled with families—biological or chosen. All are themes you’ll find throughout my books.
