Dean Harper is the type of doctor anyone would want to bump into in an elevator. He’s devilishly handsome, deeply caring, and has a pair of sapphire blue eyes that pierce right through you. He was well on his way to having the perfect life with who he thought was the perfect man. Well, until he found that ‘perfect’ man cheating on him with three other guys. At the same time. Noah Silver is having a difficult time. With his mom passing and his dad growing more and more difficult to live with, he’s pushed into an unorthodox way of making money. He knew that being a cam boy would be temporary, but he didn’t realize how drastically it would change his life. He had no idea he would meet the man of his dreams because of it. He also had no idea he would become the target of a serial killer because of it. Dean’s world gets turned upside down when Noah, the guy he’d been fantasizing with through a computer screen, ends up in his exam room. Their connection is immediate, even though Noah has no idea Dean is behind his online crush. They both have issues to work on, but can either of them pass up a chance like this? Or are they both throwing themselves into harm’s way? ______________
Code Silver is the first book in the Sierra View series. It’s a full-length, steamy gay romance that can be read alone and has no cliffhangers.
I have been a fan of Max Walker’s since I discovered his first series, The Guardian and was intrigued by this new series.
Who wouldn’t want Dr. Dean Harper. He is the perfect “McSteamy”. He is sweet, caring, talented and gorgeous. But life hasn’t been very fair to the nice doctor. He walked in on his boyfriend having sex with not one but three guys at once in his house on his couch! Now he is determined to be a loner, never letting down his walls around his heart. He is perfectly content with his life and his little personal viewing on line of a certain gorgeous “cam boy”. Noah Silver is having a rough go with his life every since his mom died suddenly. Life with his father has reached a breaking point and he has to get out. His only problem is that his career as a personal trainer hasn’t blossomed to its full potential yet. So he is forced into a career he had no desire to do, becoming a “cam model”. But at least it is helping pay the bills on his new place to live and he is quickly picking up lots of paying followers. When a freak accident lands Noah in Dean’s ER the two men meet and there is lots of electricity. “Code Silver” is the story of what happens after these two men meet, get to know each other and share their secrets.
I got Dean. He really got burned by an ex that isn’t seeming to take no for an answer. You screw up that badly and you are out. But Ben, Dean’s ex, just doesn’t want to let it go. So when Noah enters the picture Dean takes it really slowly. And poor Noah, I wasn’t completely sure I knew what a cam model was but it didn’t seem like a job for him, even though he did take to it pretty well.
My problem was that the online stalker of Noah’s seamed a but of an unnecessary added drama. It just didn’t work for me.
I like this book but it wasn’t my favorite book by this author. It was pretty low key and interesting but drug out a bit long in places. I do look forward to Caleb’s story.
