Wow. Lots of things I never knew of going on while I was growing up straight. I consider the 80s my growing-up years, ages 10-20, and I never heard of the Circuit, despite my Mom having several gay and lesbian friends. Interesting.
Congrats on the new release and tour.

Thanks Nicki… The Circuit was one of those sub rosa things that was essentially veiled…. that was part of the appeal too. It way like going to sexy Gay Narnia with everyone you ever wanted to get slippy with. LOL

I can’t imagine myself clubbing at the tender age of 14!!! I’m happy that your mom was there for you as you grow up, tho! You must have had mixed emotions about all of it—exciting, scary, tempting. And though my head has never wandered on the topic that you discussed here, I want to thank you for sharing all of it. I agree that AIDS killed a lot of lives figuratively & literally. And making Patch as a DJ & living in none other than the hectic place called Manhattan *grins*, was a really smart choice. As I have said before, you managed to make your characters owned the personalities you’ve given them. In short, YOU DID GREAT! ^_^

🙂 Thanks, James. It’s been a wild woolly ride, for sure. And I can’t imagine now, looking back, doing all the stuff I did back then. I musta been crazy! But it definitely made me who I am.

Wow you grew up doing many of the things I wanted to do. Seeing all those things you saw and living that life had to have been a great thing. Good luck with the book, I can’t wait to read it.

Thanks for the interesting post! Your mom sounds like a fascinating person and your childhood would make a good book. I’m glad you found a kinder, gentler circuit party. 🙂

Thank you for the interesting post, Damon: your experiences sound interesting and somehow exotic to me. But I’m really glad you found what you were looking for… And the “rodeo” circuit sounds really good to me! 😉

🙂 Thanks, Susana. in hindsight I guess it does, although at the time I was just chasing the fun. LOL Crazy how we spiral out into adventures without meaning too. But as you say, I was happy to find the kinder, gentler option

Sounds right up my alley: when I lived with my Dad, I read his Louis L’Amour books, sci-if, and horror novels and when I lived with my Mom, I read all her Harlequin books so I’m sure that’s why I read westerns romance, sci-fi romance and paranormal romance now.

Fantastic post! I had to laugh because I have a 12 inch LP of the Village People too. I think my parents gave it to me, but I can’t claim to be a child of the disco era. Thanks for the great post and giveaway! Congratulations on your new book! It looks wonderful.

It’s probably a good thing that I grew up in boring Ohio & was in high school the mid 80s or I have no doubt I’d be dead from alcohol poisoning or OD. Living in NYC would have killed me. 😀

Thanks for the interesting post. I love to dance though it’s been ages since I’ve gone. We used to go all the time when I was in school. Nothing quite like you described though. Sounds like quite the adventure! Looking forward to reading the new book!

I’ve chosen the wrong time of day to offer anything witty or literary. Loved Hot Head, and with this one with its great cover and catchy title, it’ll have to be win an ecopy for sure.

Congrats and thanks for sharing your life on the circuit. I was of age, then, but not out until much later. Then I did go to some of the circuit parties, and got an inkling of what you experienced. And btw, I was born and raised in Texas too, so I’ll be able to relate to this story.
